http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_UNRp7Wrog&feature=player_embedded# Sorry, no linky ability. This shows a side-by-side of phsyx on and physx-off. It's like two different games. Is B:AC on console being well received as initial reviews suggested it might? Stoked for the PC version.

Too bad I probably won't be able to run the game well with those effects at the moment so I fine with the PS3 version which looks good enough.:P

Don't know why some people would want all that stuff flying around. Just doesn't seem...real.

Does Nvidia still prevent combination of AMD and Nvidia for Physx, without hacked drivers?

It was used to good effect in AA, especially in the Scarecrow scenes. TBH I'd rather them there than not, going back AA looks kind of bare without them, same with Alice.

Saw this the other day. Looks nice :)

I don't get why this is supposed to "need" Physx though. (I think) I get that it helps and lets the graphics card do it without straining the system much, but can't a powerful card with a good amount of video memory paired with a nice processor produce the same thing? The effects were nice, but they weren't "holy **** how do they do this?!".

I thought that all of them but the sparks (not the weird green thing, but the part that looked like sparks falling from above) looked pretty good. The money and smoke especially.

Damn, can't afford a dedicated card for PhysX. Wonder how medium PhysX effects will look. (Assuming such a setting is available, like with Arkham Asylum.)

Looks just about as pointless and gimicky as the physics eye-candy that was in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Another swing and a miss, eh Nvidia? ;)

Yes because being dressed as a bat and beating the crap out of all these strange bad guys is real but having partical effects and etc aren't.

It absolutely doesn't, you could implement the same stuff in other ways. But since they implemented it with CUDA which is Nvidia-only, it won't run on anything else.

They've been trying to push the idea of Nvidia GPU (or better yet a second Nvidia GPU) being a good platform for physics, and all they have to show for it is a small handful of games with completely superficial GPU-based physics that hurts your overall performance.

I'm still not seeing the swing and the miss, but ok. I enjoy the effects, and I'm sure many others buy Nvidia GPUs to take advantage of the effects as well.

If you think it's a distinguishing feature that's worth the performance hit, you're welcome to. Personally I don't think so, and I don't think a lot of people would agree with you.

Well I won't see a huge performance hit, so that's fine. I don't base my decision on whether or not people agree with me, though I'm sure there are many that enjoy said effects.

Thank you, I mean I'm not saying omg Nvidia >>>Amd because of Pyhsx, but I do enjoy the effects. For instance, if Nvidia were to come out and fall flat on its face with their next line of GPUs and AMD totally spanks them, I would go AMD. However if it is as close as it is right now performance wise, I go with the one that offers the best side features to me.

I was initially getting it for PC, but I'm not willing to wait for a month no mater how many confetti they put extra. When you follow games and are hyped for them, especially games as good as Batman, a month is like an eternity. BTW PS3 version looks surprisingly good.

Let's say AMD cards can.. and I'm not saying they couldn't.. But as an ATi/AMD graphics card user since the x1950xt, HD4870, and HD4870x2... less driver issues and headache for me.. As of right now, Nvidia all the way. /no nvidia fanboy here

Im so stoked to play the Ultimate edition, the developers even mentioned in interviews that they are going in and by hand lovingly adding tesselation to the world to make it extra beautiful and special. This is going to be amazing and weeeeeeell worth the short wait. ALSO keep in mind that paper and trash flying through the air was only 1 example, another example used by the devs in interviews is Batman throwing an enemy into a wall on the console version will cause the texture on the wall to change into a cracked wall texture, while on the PC the enemy will actually get thrown through the wall into the next room!!

Not sure what the minimum would be, I just got an ASUS GTX 570 off of Amazon for only 350 bucks for Battlefield 3, but now with Batman, and Skyrim (mods), and SWTOR on the way Im stoked and it was worth the price.

I think you have no clue just how much more beautiful and amazing everything about the Ultra DX11 version of this game is going to be. From what I have read from the DEV's this is going to make the console purchase of this game a sad pathetic waste of money. Prepare to be blown away ladies and gents.
