Home is great if you like that sort of thing and like spending a ton of money on microtransactions. Which doesnt appeal to me at all but i'm sure there's plenty of people that like that sort of thing, and if you dont plan on changing your avatars clothes or changing your avatars living accomodations its completely free.

[QUOTE="slvrraven9"]i agree with most of what you said. slow downloads - check annoying users - check returning back?? most people return back to figure out why in Gods name they went there in the first place. i admit i visited that cesspool of retards in the past as well. and ill make another admission, ill never return. but home is a gem some, i mean literally dozens of people find the downloadable clothing and accesories worthwhile, and that in of itself is a success....Quaker-w00ts

sorry I am not a retard.

i guess you don't actually know why people return back to home.

alot of clothes are free and some are .50 and 1.00 and some ridiculous stuff is $5-$10

Don't be ignorant if you don't like it

and don't call people names when clearly your the name you called all the other users of home.

o wait, i forgot, you add to your ignorance when you say slow downloads their actually quite fast now. :)

im pretty sure i didnt call you a retard ANYWHERE in my post nor do i know or care who you are enough to single you out. but home is chock FULL of retards, for instance, people buying full game downloads for girls or other people posing as women, or the people who pose as women to get free stuff from idiots who buy them or people picking up on people half their age.whatever your definition of a retard is, im sure you find loads of them running rampant on Home. Also, dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with downloading the free accessories you can get form home....hell theres nothing wrong with free stuff anywhere depending on what youre getting but i fail to validate paying ANY amount of money whatsoever onvirtual clothing and apartment furniture. :lol:now im usually reluctant to drop a general label on a product and call it worthless, but since its release its done absolutely nothing beneficial to my core gaming experience to convince me that my time spent there is justified or beneficial to my gaming experience as a whole. but lets talk about the downloading, yes it is fastER...but its not hardly fast, dont kid yourself because youre not kidding me one bit. the PSN has always had rediculously slow DL speeds but i admit that over the years theyve improved quite a bit...but then again its not hard to improve on it when DL's were moving at dialup speeds. quite fast, my glorified rectum....just go ahead and facepalm yourself cause im not gonna waste my time doing it for you...

I dont use it due to the fact that it took forever to load each part and download it. I just deleted it because I never used it.

um the facepalm isn't needed. :|

im pretty sure you labeled Home as a "Cesspool of retards" which indicates that you are infact indirectly calling me; a home user, a retard...

i agree that there were alot of people who did that. :P

and it must be me then, because it is wayyy faster than what it used to be.

it's not as bad as it used to be, but it definitely gave me some good friends that i play games with all the time, so i cant really hate on it.

They didn't say how often, they just said the user spends about an hour on each visit in Home.

When I had my PS3, Home wasn't around yet, so I don't know much about it. I do look forward to checking it out once I get another PS3 though.

ok i edited my post just for you.....

"im pretty sure i didnt call you a retard ANYWHERE in my post nor do i know or care who you are enough to single you out."

by implying that home is a cesspool of retards doesntmean that EVERYONE in there is a retard i know the difference.

in short ill say that if you own a PS3 and youre using the HOme, youre doing it wrong.....

Does Sony really make money from Home? I cant picture ANYONE who would pay for the ingame furniture and clothes. Anyone have links to actual figures?

It's obvious you haven't been on Home recently.

Home is a success for Sony. The service not appealing to you doesn't change that fact.

Slashkice

Exactly, i went there when they opened the Disgaea 3 space and i was shocked by how PACKED it was, i mean it was full of poeple that day. noticed lots of poeple wearing diffrent clothes so im guessing people really buy those clothes not the mention the DLC Sony rleeased for home like a week ago already has what over 100 votes so far? meaning over 100 people bought it so far

erglesmergle

They have clocked in millions in profit.

People have an odd impulse to by clothing for avatars (look at free MMO's like Maple Story)

Then add in advertising deals. Many video game advertisers see it as a great market.

The customization isnt even that good, so i dont see why people bother. They'd be better off playing the Sims if they wanna dress avatars up and make houses pretty. You can do the whole social thing on Home without spending a penny.

I tried Home and I didn't really like it, but presumably some people do.

It's a workable business model, essentially it's a free-to-play MMO with microtransactions and advertising generating revenue.

I go in Home dancing sometimes, play some pool, walking around(when it was new years eve). the 4th of July display at Home kinda awesome.... I kinda like it sometimes.
