See what you get for your loyalty 360 boys, you get thrown off of Xbox Live.

Okay so it was a move to stop all modded 360's for there illegal use, but if you ask me, thats something Microsoft should've tried to make unhackable before the system even released, and now you have 1000,000 disgruntled 360 owners that can no longer play online.

LOL it's like there trying to make the 360 fail, and if they keep doing stuff like this, us PS3 boys will be smilin' as Sony laughs all the way to the bank and our install base grows.

Pirates die and it is good. And if you wanna talk about making things unhackable maybe Sony should have done better with the PSP.

Especially when they had the modded systems hooked up online. I feel no remorse for them.

Only a true fanboy would take the pirates side, MS punishment wasn't hard enough on the pirates IMO they should make every pirate pay double of what all the games they pirated cost as well.

It's worse. It's not supporting piracy, it's like he has an inability to even consider the piracy as part of the equation.

What's this crap about loyalty? They were pirates! They were not being loyal to MS in the first place. MS had every right to ban them and as far as I'm concerned, they deserved whatever punishment they get.

hate to tell you this. but only reason they got a 360 was because sony put blu ray into its system to make it very hard to mod. and almost worthless to try to sell pirated games with over priced blu ray discs costing them so much. im sure they will buy another 360 and figure out a way to boink the system. if theres money to be made, they always do....

So pirates mod the 360 so they don't have to pay for games (or at least full price) I don't get the Sony fanboy logic of that means they will automatically switch to a more expensive system which has no mechanism atm to have pirated games on it :? SW just keeps on spitting in the face of reason day after day.

i think the opposite is going to happen friend. they'll probably re-buy a 360 and MS's numbers will inflate. if they are 360 fans to begin with, they most likely still are now. i don't see why you'd think they'd have some grudge against MS because THEY got caught and then jump ship to Sony lol. i mean they first brought the 360 for their own reasons, those reasons didn't just go away. they just F'd up and got punished for it. they'll most likely re-purchase and behave(if they're smart). their new and old friends are on there...the games they like are on there...it's still cheaper and has a good year in games coming. so yea, i don't see why you think this will go Sony and it's fanboys way.

MS probably just bans them so that they will have to buy a new 360 all over again. Even if 2 out of ever 10 people they ban buy a new one, that's still around 200,000 more consoles sold

So it pays off. Banned pirates have to shell out for a new 360 or not quit the system and never come back. Good riddance to the pirate and smart business for MS. ;)

All developers care about is attach rates, and the 360's was even higher than it seemed with this taken into account. as long as developers are happy, it bodes well for 360 "fanboys".

Install base is good when they, ya know, buy games. Having 1,000,000 Xboxs playing pirated games does absolutely nothing for MS, it hurts them. This is good news you big silly :D

You think those units that have been banished are stricken from the total count for 360's sold? That's hilarious. No, those still count as sold to both publishers and to US, SW.

In what twisted fantasy world does the banning of 1 million pirates count as a negative against the 360?

How is a pirate loyal?CanYouDiglt
They were loyal in the fact that they owned a 360, modded although it may be, but a 360 owner none the less. Not to mention if they started pirating the games because they didn't want to invest in an already well known unreliable console because it might go RROD on them then chances are they'll give up the 360 completely now because of this ban. There by lessening Microsofts install base by 1 million.

All developers care about is attach rates, and the 360's was even higher than it seemed with this taken into account. as long as developers are happy, it bodes well for 360 "fanboys".TBoogy
they care about total sold and how it relates to attach rate

so in other words, you want pirates on the PS3?

First of all in case you haven't noticed PS3 has no pirates because Sony has taken the appropriate measures to ensure that pirated games cannot be played on the PS3, something Microsoft should've figured out before releasing 360. I mean c'mon pirating software has been around since the invention of the floppy disc, and still they can't devise an anti theft security program to stop pirated games.... LOL i'm glad i own a MAC instead of a PC, because if this is how they protect there systems, god only knows what would happen to a computer.

[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]How is a pirate loyal?Knight-of-NINE
They were loyal in the fact that they owned a 360, modded although it may be, but a 360 owner none the less. Not to mention if they started pirating the games because they didn't want to invest in an already well known unreliable console because it might go RROD on them then chances are they'll give up the 360 completely now because of this ban. There by lessening Microsofts install base by 1 million.

actually, the pirates will probably o out and buy a new 360 and(if they're smart) actually buy the games. honestly, its a good thing if pirates are bad, i hope they do go to sony and pirate games on ps3.....

[QUOTE="Knight-of-NINE"][QUOTE="Racer_XLR"]They got dissed? No, Mr. Knight. That's a good thing. They knew the risk and they got caught. Done deal.The_Game21x

Done Deal ?, Don't think so, Microsoft just lost 1000,000 of there install base, so i wouldn't be jumping for joy if i were you, whether there or pirates or not ,it still amounts to lost numbers for the 360's install base which doesn't bode well for you 360 fanboys.

In what twisted fantasy world does the banning of 1 million pirates count as a negative against the 360?

Like I said in another one of these threads, the only negative is pirates can still play offline w/ unpaid software and Microsoft could potentially lose money if the pirates decide to not renew their Live account and stick to offline gaming for free. At least with the 1,000,000 pirates at 50 dollars a year, microsoft was still making money off of them. Even if 10% decide to go that route, that is $5,000,000 of lost money a year. And we all know the pirates will not go legit, they may buy another 360 but it will be modded and the cycle continues.

....yeah the part of the intall base poisoning the gaming industry... MS was probably a happy person when that happened and lemming should be too. why? because if the 360 had that many pirates then its that many less games sold and less money made by the video game industry. this leads to devs that are moore shaky bout making games for a pirated system. nw they know that of the 31 million user base (after subtracting a million) nearly all of them will buy games at full price its a better move for everyone.
