Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most anticipated games of 2022, releasing in an already stacked February alongside other heavy hitters like Elden Ring, Dying Light 2, Sifu, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, and more. It’ll be interesting to see how all these games do going head to head like this, but it’s possible there are delays between now and then. Nonetheless, Horizon Forbidden West is preparing for release.

What is included in the day one patch remains to be seen, but it is likely to have one that pushes that size over 100 GBs. Well it could be smaller as the article states that some games have larger file sizes in the database then when the game actually comes out. Anyway though I’m assuming that the physical version will need at least two discs. How much is the storage capacity of the discs for these current gen systems anyway?

PC is hermits territory, not lems. And no, you can't say that its coming to pc when Bloodborne has been an exclusive for over half a decade. Until they announce a pc port, its a Sony exclusive.

Reading this reminds me of the PS3 days when MGS4 came out. Remember the huge deal it was that it was using the whole dual-layered 50 GB Bluray disc?

Let it be whatever size. If you don't have space, delete games you won't be playing or expand your storage.

If they don't accept it already, they're delusional. It's not all of them though. Some of them actually play games on a non-windows os for some reason.

Is that so hard? Why do they never give you options for ANY of it? The big games should have a slew of options before downloading or installing from the disc, considering how little space the PS5 comes with and how many people have monthly bandwidth caps.

Part of the next gen experience was supposed to be highly optimized games that use less space due to the SSD efficiency

I feel like the release of Horizon: Forbidden West will mark the true beginning of the new gen. Nothing released thus far comes close!

Good, games that get compressed audio tends to hurt the quality.

Look at San Andreas 'remastered' where they couldn't even find the original files anymore and all the voices sound like poop.

Why compress when you can just leave it uncompressed and enjoy ultra fast speeds on SSD.

Don't overburden the PS5 cpu with decompression.
