Horizon Forbidden West is 96gb! #wowza

That’s true! I just have a bias towards the spectscular machines in Horizon! That snake was just Wow!

I have yet to complete the first one…I really didn’t get into it. But the visuals really look fantastic.

There's so much detail put into. So much research from Guerrilla to make the snake look both natural and machine at the same time, for example in the way it moves.

I'm sure they watched a ton of documentaries on all these animals, to get them translated into the game just right.

You call this butthurt? Pointing out all the major flaws to blind fanboys is not being butthurt. Nobody is gonna be jelly for a game with poor writing, ugly visuals, zero optimization, repetitive gameplay, no story, no content in pvp, etc. On the other hand, Horizon 2 will deliver in visuals, optimization and the combat system. I never cared about its story and its open world, but many did, so i am sure it'll deliver to those people.

It could also mean that the game is poorly compressed.

The PS5 has dedicated decompression hardware. The CPU doesn't do any of it unless the game doesn't support it.

Ah you mean audio specifically. I don't know if Kraken decompresses audio, but in the previous gen, the PS4 had AMD's TrueAudio technology which IIRC used CUs to decompress audio. I'm not sure if that's the case now though.

Kraken and Oodle. There's hardware decompression for textures where the CPU was responsible for it last gen.

I don't think we'll see 0 second load times but they've been able to get pretty close. I played Ghost of Tsushima Director's cut recently and fast travel is basically a little over 1 second. And that's either across the main island or between Iki and Tsushima. The PS4 version took about 10-20 seconds to load before.

thats....not too bad. I mean Doom Eternal takes up 80GB on the PC. I think there are also some other games that take up close enough to 96GB. so 96GB for a big PS5 game....not great...not terrible :P.

Prob gonna be the first time I use my PS5 since R&C.

Only thing I remember from back then is cows making fun of lems because MGS4 would have to be on multiple discs if it was ported to xbox 360 because of how much space it took. But nothing like "omg this game takes close to 100gb can you imagine how great it'll be??".

@R4gn4r0k: Guess my views on visuals are quite different. Yes it looks better with ray tracing...but it's certainly not in anyway the craziest thing I've ever seen. Art direction for me > technical goodies, so maybe that's why I'm not really impressed by ray tracing yet.

I am the only person on SW that tries my hardest to wake as many blind lems (you) as possible. Its my duty to inform our fellow fanboys how misinformed most of you are. Horizon2 will obliterate your dreams. What will be possible in February, we won't see on the Xbox until 2024 the earliest.

Idk about that; considering how big its GB is, it's going to be a really tight fit in your Playstation.
