Horizon: Zero Dawn going Gold soon & on it's way to be the best PS4 exclusive game of 2017!

Horizon: Zero Dawn hype is running wild, and while we're here waiting for more news (and the final release date) to come we have some insider intel reporting how things are going at developer Guerrilla Games. It seems everything's fine and Sony, knowing that, is preparing for a huge marketing push in order to make the game shine everywhere.

According to Shinobi602, the fame insider posting on NeoGaf, "mock reviews have been very good. Internally I'm told the game is regarded as the best thing coming out of anything first party by senior PS leadership. They're extremely high on it." Sure enough this is a great news, meaning that Horizon is living up Sony and Guerrilla's expectations so far.

"I expect the game do well critically and commercially," Shinobi added. "Going to be a big push the week before launch too." Based on the info gathered by the insider, the RPG from the makers of Killzone is set to enter the Gold development stage as soon as next week, which means everything is tuned up to the February 28/March 1 release.

On top of that, Guerrilla Games just confirmed the game won't feature microtransactions and won't release together with a Season Pass, for now. They're doing it right, it seems.

Now this is good news for a New IP game coming from Guerrilla Games, I for one am glad there doing something new and not just another Killzone game, it's nice that Sony is taking risk of giving new IP games to shine. Pumped for this game, I'm just excited for a new game, I love the settings and all the gameplay vids I saw, it's a done deal. Bow/Arrow + Robot Dinos + 10,000BC into the future=fucking awesome!

PS4 just got 4 high scoring exclusives in a 4 day span and has Horizon, Nioh, Nier Automata, Persona 5 and the Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 Remix coming out over the next couple months while all Xbone is getting is a RTS no one cares about. Wow.

If it does flop, then it is will just keep up with the current trend since 360/PS3 era. You know, hype games being less than stellar.

Sounds good. The game looks excellent and is definitely one I want to get when I get a PS4 Pro.

I was really interested in this game until they released the story trailer, the game had a certain tone, look and feel that I really found enjoyable but was a product of ignorance and expectation of that to remain. This trailer completely changed my view of the game, it showcased things I wasn't expecting and a different game than I was looking forward to.

It turned me off to it, this just doesn't look good to me anymore.

What's the hype for this game?

What game on the Xbone can even compete with this? Nothing in 2017 or even 2018. Nioh and Horizon will gank the hell out of anything on the Bone. lems have no chance.

I'm really curious how releasing a few days away from the Switch might diminish its attention in the spotlight, even if it is an awesome game. Wonder too if the game doesn't live up to Sony's expectations and goals whether they'll keep Guerrilla around. I'm guessing they had Evolution abandon Motorstorm to work on Drive Club as a last straw there, wondering why Guerrilla isn't working on new Killzone game if they weren't in the same predicament.

I've been excited for this game ever since the reveal of it. It's one of the few PS4 exclusives I really want. I may not get it day 1, but it'll definitely be in my collection before The Last of Us 2 comes out :). Persona 5 is another I'm hyped for.

I just hope Guerrilla Games doesn't screw it up somehow. They are beasts when it comes to graphics, but I really hated the entire Clownzone series. Like...., holy shit they wasted so much talent & time on those games. *facepalm*

Yes it was it was only on xbox one and then moved to PC just like Quantum Break as well,QB was so lol worthy because everyone found out about the PC version like a month and a half before release,up until then it was just for xbox one..hahahaa

Your post doesn't even make sense, how could I now realize it was a PlayStation 4 exclusive when it's always been one not to mention I've not once said anything negative about this game and have been excited about it until the story trailer?

This game to me is the equivalent of a hot girl you see every once and a while working down the street at a local store. You have a mental image of her, an idea of what you think she's about, a concept for what you think she'd be like to date, then you ask her out, go on a date and realize she's completely different than you thought she was and not in a good way.

Sometimes less information about something sets up a different context for what something is about, and the more you actually learn the less or more appealing it can become, for this game it went the route of less.

After 6 years in development it will live up to the hype. I know GG very well. Graphics king and GOTY... but.... i would of preferred a new Killzone, since its the best multiplayer games on console. They did say... we just taking a break from Killzone and that they are not giving up on it.. which makes me think they been working on a new KZ since 2013 or 2014... but who knows....

Actually, the 4 PS games they are talking about all flopped in scores. And the majority of the titles are multiplatfom which can be found on Microsoft Windows or PS Pro.

Nex Machina, Matterfall, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Nier Automata (since xbox apparently has exclusives so this counts), Nioh, Persona 5, Ni no Kuni 2, etc etc are this year.

I'd put every game on that list (matterfall out of merit of being housemarque) above horizon zero dawn.

I'll still get horizon zero dawn eventually and it seems super fun.

I care about any rts. I grew up on it and I'll get it on pc when it's cheaper just like most of the ps4 exclusives.

The only ps4 exclusives I'm getting day 1 for the first 4 months are Yakuza 0 (already bought and waiting till the 29th) and Persona 5.

I'll get Nioh, Nier automata, Horizon, Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 soon.

I'll likely day one ni no kuni 2 as well.

I'm not impressed so far. Gameplay looks generic and boring. They can polish any trailer and make a game look pretty.
