STORY:

Worldwide sales for Horizon: Zero Dawn exceeded 2.6 million units during its first two weeks of launch, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.

The PlayStation 4 title was developed by Guerrilla Games and released worldwide starting February 28. It is the best-selling new first-party IP launch on PlayStation 4 to date and Guerrilla’s biggest ever debut.

The game isn't perfect however I applaud Guerilla Games for trying something different from Killzone, and I'm glad it's selling well. Hopefully they master part 2 and challenge Naughty Dogs to make an open world The Last of Us RPG.

Great. That leaves room for a sequel. Please don't bring back Aloy but if you do make sure she develops properly this time around.

Well, if even i, who despises FC like titles is currently enjoying the hell out of this game, it better sell. For the sequel, add in more RPG elements, horde mode (killing those dinos is already fun on your own. with 3+ other players it would be epic) and we have a winner.

Not knocking the number or Sony, 2.6 million is great for a new IP console history has shown. But you got to wonder what the hell are 50+ million gamers on PS4 doing? I can even say this for xbox too.

Sony has more than Forza/Gears/Halo. What they're doing? Playing other games. Because you know? There's actual variety on the system.

It's on par with other sony exclusives and that number will only increase over time.

I love to see a study to see if thats true. MS and Sony should really get together and pay for a study to find out why million of gamers don't buy their games? Is it pricing of games, not their type of game, lost interest in the console after buying it?

Why would you need a study for something this obvious? When you have choice, you tend to try a bunch of games. When you have nothing else but Halo, you buy that yearly Halo and tell yourself you're enjoying it as much as you did 15 years ago.

Its not obvious because sales would be higher. There is estimated 56 million PS4 consoles. What games on PS4 are you talking about?

Battlefield 1 is one of the biggest third party multiplat's and that only sold 15 million on 3 platforms with over 200 million + gamers.

Playing other games? Outside of GTA V, CoD and certain Nintendo games it is rare for any game these days to have insane attach rates anymore. There are more higher rated games being released than ever.

Kudos to Guerrilla Games for really delivering with this game. While the Killzone games were certainly good this one seems to have raised the developer to a new level.

So according to you guys, the latest COD is a total flop in numbers sold because it only reached about 5mill as of Jan (which is 32bill that they made in money) because the install base between xbox and PS4 is like what 76 Mill. New IP+a female protag that is allegedly well done. This is good news all around. Throw in Nioh shipping a million units, For Honor did well. I'm genuinely happy about this stuff. Devs n pubs need to realize there is a market for new fucking games.

Congratulations to both Guerrilla Games & Sony and you see that MS, this is how new IP games are made, taking risks and satisfaction gaming. I'm still playing the game since launch and I got a long ways to go cause I'm just enjoying killing machines and exploring the world of Zero Dawn.

Played the game for one hour to check it out. Looked amazing on the Pro. Will play after I beat Zelda.

@Zero_epyon: Oh yeah, the dude doing these gifs is clearly trying time and time again to get the camera right, get the right in-game daylight/moonlight, etc. He isn't playing the game "normally".
