just want some horror game but can decide which version to buy, so here we go

which one is scarier

playing horror game on PC with more closer to the monitor, and with headphone, or

playing horror game on console with plasma HDTV and DTS surround sound

so what do you think?

Try sitting closer then.

PC is the best for having your face in the action, you try the same on a HDTV and the resolution/screen DPI ruins the quality.

I think it depends more on which game you play. Try playing Stalker SoC with a good set of headphones on. That game more than any other will make you goose-pimply, it's one of those types of games lol and it's only on PC!

No its those sub-720p resolutions. Seeing those jaggies makes me think of sharp edges and how people might get hurt by them!

Depends on the game. Personally I find sitting up close with a monitor in your face, surrounded by 5.1 speakers or wearing headphones - in pitch black - is as scary as a game can get. Oh and someone mentioned Shock 2? Well yeah that = win i guess eh.

Really depends on what scares you more easily. Immersion factor vs cinematics.

Depends from person to person.

I prefer PC games in this genre tho, because the pc has this ability to close you in, in this little bubble, effectively cutting you off from your perseptive surroundings, also my pc got better sound then my entertainment centre -.-

I simply feel Im sitting too far away from the action when playing on console, its like watching a movie (which is not really scary at all)

My cousin prefers horrors on his console, mainly because it gives him breathingroom... (and comfort)

I must admit that I become somewhat autistic when playing pc games
