How does a golf game get 300 000k preorders in japan, yet ninja gaiden sigma, folksoul, forza 2 all didnt really make a dent I just dont get japans taste in gaming

Japan is insane. Everyone in that country owns like 8 DS'es.
And when I look at their best selling list I am puzzled most of the time.

So no one will buy a ps3 for the game? Sony is bundling ps3s with the game when it releases. O and I don't believe there are 300k pre-orders from consumers; that is probably the number of copies that retailers ordered.

The TC did not state whether it was consumers but it is believable if it is retailers. Though some PS3 and 360 games have had a strong first week in Japan and collapse the next week.
