People think Macs are for noobs since the User Interface is 10x more user friendly and since gamers haven't used Macs and probably have only seen them from the commercials.

Cause you can pretty much customize every part of your PC. Macs come with the stuff you need, and they don't exactly encourage moderation.

In gaming relevance, Macs rarely ever get games that PCs and Consoles get on a consistent basis.  Other than that, I find Macs to be much more reliable, though overpriced compared to PCs.  And if you're used to the Windows OS, then you'll feel lost when using Mac OS X.

I think Macs are more noob-friendly because the interface is really user friendly and everything works as it should.

Oh noes! I use a mac. . .that means I'm a noob. Or it just means that I really like their OS and I find their laptop's to be better than any PC laptop on the market. But don't get me wrong. I'm currently building a media center PC for my home entertainment system.

Mac notebooks rule! Everything is very well integrated and you don't have to worry about all the extra fluff that comes loaded with all the PC notebooks.

Mac rarely gets games that the PC or console gets. Even ports. Besides, I see their interface as too user friendly. Windows makes you think, and therefore, it forces you to read a book. Everyone wins! (Except you.)

Macs are for noobs because they are user friendly. Anyone can just get on it and know what they are doing. To upgrade a PC (which macs can only get knew programs) it takes knowledge on the hardware that you're using and the hardware you are buying. PC's are gamer friendly, Macs are user friendly. Macs are designed for certain purposes and aren't great at multi tasking (I own one). Although I love the interface on them, I just can't do as much on them with as compared to my high-end gaming PC. If you have the money, I say learn about computers and buy a highend PC. If you are only going to use a computer for personal uses such as school, or work, try a mac. I just like having the ability to upgrade my computer right out of the case without havin to buy something completely different.

[QUOTE="PikaPichu"] Mac notebooks rule! Everything is very well integrated and you don't have to worry about all the extra fluff that comes loaded with all the PC notebooks.

Yes they do. Especially with the switch over to the Intel laptops, I've found NOTHING in the PC world that can compare to a mac laptop. Everything from the look, feel, and size is so well thought out. Heck Sony even tried ripping off the macbook style with one of their laptop lines. [QUOTE="coolguy1111"] Yes Macs laptops are great, there towers? they suck. So get that PC.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "their towers suck". I think they're just marketed at a different crowd than normal towers. I mean you look at the mac mini and that's basically a computer mushed into the size of a Wii. The iMac's are the BEST all in one monitor/computers on the market without a doubt. No one has been able to make an all-in-one anywhere near as good. However their high end PC's. . .I personally see little use for them. I think Microsoft's Media OS is light years ahead of Apple at the moment, as well as gaming just can't compete. Unless you're doing high end video editing, I personally see no reason for a high end Apple tower. It's much better to build a custom Media PC.

PC's are trash. Once you go Mac, you never go back. Lol that sounds corny, but it's true.

I've been using exclusively my mac for almost 8 months, and I'm currently looking very forward to the Vista Media Center PC that I'm building. I prefer to think of it as, Mac and Windows both cover different markets. Mac's are for ease of use and style, Windows is for customizing ability and gaming. I wouldn't trade my laptop for any other laptop on the market and I certainly wouldn't trade a nicely built high end Media Center PC for any Mac desktop.

I went Mac once, and I'm never going back... to Macs that is. I just don't like the fact that your hardware choices are so limited. The software that they come with is great, but the systems cost so much more than PCs with the same hardware.

That's a very common misconception. Look at the new Intel macs. They're priced much, much, much more competitively than the old G3/G4/G5 macs.

That kids a tool. He said it would take $3,000 to build a next gen PC rig. He called me an idiot like the mature little boy he is for saying something I did'nt. So I listed part for part from Newegg, a pretty nice Core2duo e6600+8600 ultra rig for about 1200. He did not respond.

Because you can't hack them, mod them, and do fun stuff to them. Unless your idea of fun is editing stupid videos to put on Youtube for all your stupid emo friends to see. Then they're good.

If you get into the world of design or multi-media Macs are pretty much required.
