looked frackin awesomesauce!! best part of MS's press conference

It was my favorite part of Microsoft's Press Conference.
But I only saw until Forza 4 because then it stopped working.
But I really liked it and I like that it is an Origin story because Lara Croft is 21 in this game.
Oh just one other thing, focus this on the game itself and not its bearing on the MS conference ;)
And if my sigs haven't already been an indication enough, I am HYPED through the stratosphere!! :D :D I have no doubt now TR will reclaim its former glory when Lara had the attention of all gamers (the TR1 and 2 era). I also love the vulnerable and human Lara this new beginning features.
as some guy in IGN siad..."It made grit look clean" It looks cool, but holy cow...like i have a hard time seeing lara like that. Its like seeing Mario in the same situation. U've know something as one way for so long that such a change is kinda horrifying. u get what i mean?
Looked really promising, but I also hope she won't be moaning the whole game.ManicAceI can kind've see why she was moaning she was really injured from the fall and I think she broke her one arm or something else when she fell.
It looked awesome until the part that resembled more actual gameplay with that room with like the cage thing and used her instincs to figure out what was usable. In this part I discovered fully that the animations are bland. I didn't liked how she jumped, grabbed, and climbed from stuff, it looked so fake. Everything else apparently is awesome.
I wasn't impressed at all. When I was watching I was annoyed at how everything was in such tight confined spaces with only 1 path. I didn't like the way the iconds highlighted flames for you (I mean really?).They even repeated the "near capture" animation, where some baddie grabbed her ankle and which triggered a quick-time event to escape. I was thinking "damn, how linear is THIS game going to be". But the guy did mention "vast open world", so maybe 1st impressions aren't indicative of the final outcome. I'll just assume that was the very intro to the game, or maybe even a section that will never make it to the final product.2ChalupasThey even said it was the opening of the game I think the last thing they showed was the start of the Title sequence.
It looked good. Played like the introductory tutorial sequence of a game before it starts opening up to reveal the parts you might have a reason to get excited over.
Bad, where are the guns? I don't want a damn bow and arrow.i5750at4Ghz
That would totally destroy the theme of the game, considering this was supposedly the beginning of the game. But I wouldn't be surprised if she finds a pair of guns in some wreckage or something later in the game.

I think the point of the vocal audio is to convey just how vulnerable Lara is, that she is affected by her situations and in her inexperience, she can get shaken up and lose composure, even get scared. This is before she became the seasoned explorer with the skills to be capable of handling stressful and high risk conditions.

I think the moaning has a deeper reason, but I wont share it because I don't want to get moderated ...

Think I got a little hasty with this lock. Sorry

Gonna give this another go.

Teh bias! :o
haha, I just saw how some other threads were gtting by the other moderators. As long as this fouses on the game and not its placement in the MS conference, should be in the clear :)
Last Tomb Raider game I bought was like when the 360 first came out.
They really did a nice job on this one. Will def look more into it and maybe even buy it... If the epicness is start to finish.
Looked great and reminded me a lot of Uncharted 2. Funny how Uncharted was called Dude Raider once and now Tomb Raider is trying to be Uncharted.lusitanogamer
Happens in a lot of genres. Shooters always borrow off each other too. Much of what Uncharted incorporated in platforming originated with Tomb Raider, and now we see TR take some inspiration from Uncharted.
But the games while sharing some mechanics, are more dissimilar in gameplay themes. The Uncharted games have always been about fast paced action, and this is even more especially the case with UC2 that showcased lots of highly styIized and explosive cinematic sequences.
Tomb Raider on the other hand has always been more focused on exploration and puzzle solving, both with mechanisms & gateway obstacles, and the environements themselves being a massive interactive puzzle, for the player to solve how they must traverse the complex geography and figuring out how to implement the platforming in order to progress through the game.

It's a decent point, but it felt like she was conveying those emotions 'to' someone, rather than feeling it for herself, which should have been the case. At least, that was how it felt to me. Plus, it was PG! :P Seriously in that situation I'd except expletives here and there. Of course seeing her then turn and become more mature would add to that.
Having said that I'm keeing my eyes on the game.
Definitely has potential, but I am not sold yet. I hope it becomes a bit more involved and open (which it sounds to be). The game SHOULD be amazing, but I am not going to get TOO hyped yet ;). Although it is one of the best parts of E3 so far, granted there have not been that many amazing parts lol. I cannot wait for Sony and Nintendo :).
