You already damage control all the link. Last place confirm. Please address TLoU, GTA5 superior version bundle, and GT6 widen ps3 lead. What does 360 have to combat this?

I sincerely doubt the Steambox will do anything to the consoles at all.

-It's a PC. No company owns the PC, so selling at a loss is literally impossible.
-Seeing that it's powered by Linux, I can't help but think that there wouldn't be much games for it beyond Valve titles, unless you're willing to shell out a hundred dollars on Windows. I'd go as far as to say that Valve will need to pay money for a Linux port of Kingdom Hearts 3.
-Lastly, Steambox isn't the only console-sized PC in the world, thanks to Micro ATX cases and motherboards being a thing.

90% of people who buy one and actually use it are PC hardcores, so it wont matter much at all.

Chances are, "PC hardcore" already have a PC, and they're smart enough to not waste money on some extra device that can do less that what their PC can already do. It'll be the opposite, 90% of the people who buy this one will be console only gamer and want to get into a bit of PC gaming.

I didn't say that, I'm saying that Valve was selling the Xi3 Piston at $1000 to start, one could more affordably build a PC no question and have much greater power than a console, I'm just saying the current financial plans that Valve is going for isn't really making it a contender yet to compete with consoles economically I think people mistaken the fact that because Valve and Steam were PC software that handled games on PCs that their Steambox is going to be just like a PC, it's going to be a tightly controlled hardware device, and unliked a PC will probably be a closed system; it's basically going to be a console

if they're able to get the Steam library to run on Linux then I can't see why it couldn't have more games, but true it would just be much cheaper to build one's own rig

well xi3 was more of a partnership, that company is trying achieve something new IMO. Now Steambox, IF they do it I kinda hope it is a closed system that's what console gamers want. They want to turn it on and not worry about things.

you got leaked info? how much is steam box? Valve could get away with selling it at a small lost just like consoles do. By locking the system to steam and even maybe partnering up with origin (far fetch but still possibility) but keeping it closed system. They would bring in new customers = greater profits down the road

No it is not lol, the 360 is.

Nope official numbers PS3 is about 1 million behind + for the last 3 years PS2 sales have been bundled together with the PS3's, so very likely PS3 is 3-4m behind the Xbox.
