a lot of games won't be hitting native 1080p. The PS4 has more 1080p games than the XB1 so far.

They can't even get COD: Ghosts to run in 1080p on the XB1 and look how dated those graphics look to begin with.

MS needs a price cut ASAP if they want to truly compete with Sony in the long run. Sure, the hardcore Xbox fans will pay $500 for the console, but all the average Joe gamers which make up for the majority of gamers is going to pick the PS4 on price alone. Why pay $100 more to play inferior ports of the same game?

Really... is that why the Wii sold so poorly this gen? Graphics are important, but 720p vs 1080p is a hardcore sticking point, not a casual one. Casuals will buy the XB1 for it's games, online, and media capabilities.

Easy, put everything behind a paywall and make their customers beg for games.

Average Joe buys Madden, GTA and Call of Duty games. Exclusives don't mean jack for the most part. Average Joe gamer will see that all his favorite multiplats will be on the PS4 at $100 cheaper and make the obvious decision.

Sure, Wii sold the most, but a lot of people that bought the Wii also bought a PS3, or 360.

Nor $400 for the PS4. Most casuals I know aren't looking at upgrading until, madden, cod aren't available on 360/ps3. Especially the PS3 owners because they don't want to pay to play. Launch sales are hardcore gamers and people who love being the first to own new tech.

The way I look into the market, there are three segments, Entry Level, Mainstream, and High end. Entry level is big and open, where casuals and Non-gamers roam. The Mainstream Market is a market where people buy what's hot or what's new. The High End is the hardcore market, where we buy anything that is more top of the line.

Yes, with both prices, its going to be slow for both the PS4 and Xbone until prices are dropped. However, Sony has a shot to gain the Mainstream Market, where their are CoD and sports fans flood. MS, has completely misunderstood the Entry level market if they believe that $500 is justifiable for a game console. Casuals and Non-gamers don't want an all-in-one box, they want a game console that is affordable. Selling Game consoles $300 more will always be hard.

Casuals by their very definition aren't gonna care that the X1 version runs at a lower res (if that's even true) than the PS4 version, they'll only care which system they can play it with their friends on.

I think you're confusing casuals with broke people.

They'll lower the price after all the launch-day-suckers have bought one.

Are you getting the Xbox one and if not why do you even care and if you are then maybe you shouldn't since you don't think its worth 500 price tag

It's justified because of the value of Kincect 2.0. You, and many of the people on this forum who are only focused on gaming, will not care about this, but it's important to remember we are in the minority, and microsoft is betting that joe-schmoe who likes TV, music, movies and other services just as much as they like games will enjoy the feature set afforded by Kinect. I am a bigtime gamer, but I am actually really interested in many of these features myself.

I know right? Every Sony fan talks like its actually un-believable that someone has a different opinion than them. I'm even going to get a PS4 at some point when the games interest me, but a cow will still gladly get frantic when I explain why I currently will be getting the Xbox One first.

This world is full of opinions and perspectives and the sooner people get used to it the better. I can't believe fanboy wars have gotten this bad and petty that people are actually willing to insult you as a person for which console you're getting.

and its funny because each Sony fan acts like they want to know why you want an Xbox One....no you dont, you just want to call me stupid for buying one.

Grow up kids, Xbox One is better IMO because:

-I have a PC that plays games at 1440p. I do not need my console to be graphically strong.

-I like the exclusives better than any other console

-Xbox Live is my favorite online service

-360 had my favorite controller, new one looks sweet

-Kinect 2.0 looks epic

-MS dedicated servers for every game (how can any cow act like this isn't epic? KZ doesn't even have dedicated servers on PS4 and its a big game)

-Any dev can use the cloud to offload information, giving us different gaming experiences.

And those are reasons why others might justify the price difference.

What I can't justify is spending 400 on a PS4 and having no games to play. (at least IMO, just not feeling their exclusives atm)

The Xbox One games that I have seen footage of, seen in person, or actually played look great to me, and I'm looking forward to stuff that coming like Halo 5 and Titanfall. Those games are games that are not on the PS4 and I just don't care about the resolution rumors when I have seen footage of games to know for myself what they look like. Devs will get better with time and optimization on both systems. But with the One, it looks like the struggle to hit 1080 more often will harder, at least right now. I see the value in the One based on more than just gaming. You gotta realize, people are now seeing and playing these games for themselves, and their own experience versus forum threads bitching about everything from DC being delayed like its the end of the world too unconfirmed rumors, what the clould really means, ect, will win out IMO. When I see all of what the One is capable of, great graphics, exclusive games, snapping, motion/voice controls, apps, Kinect2.0, dedicated servers for all games, those things collectively to me are worth 500. Having seen and played Ryse and Forza, if thats what launch games looks like I feel good about where the system is going forward. The PS4 just hasn't impressed me. That's just my opinion. Resolution alone doesn't tell the whole story for my gaming needs. Just my two cents.

On another point, I don't need anyone to justify to me why they want a PS4. Why does anyone give a damn why I want a Xbox One, lol.

Really... is that why the Wii sold so poorly this gen? Graphics are important, but 720p vs 1080p is a hardcore sticking point, not a casual one. Casuals will buy the XB1 for it's games, online, and media capabilities.

Casuals will buy the xbone because they will be frightfully misinformed (

Anyone with any clue will avoid it.

Either that or it offers products and services that the competitor doesnt. Like dedicated servers and an altogether superior online infrastructure, kinect and in my opinion a substancially better launch lineup.

ooo and also I prefer the X1 controller and UI.

He doesn't want to hear that. He just thinks its dumb to not like what he does, and he tunes out any counter argument, however valid, to that claim. Can't converse with a Cow. They only know mooooo! :)

Then why is it that the XBox 360 still outsold the PS4 in NA?

Launched a year earlier and was priced much lower. PS3 still managed to outsell the 360 worldwide though.

Are you getting the Xbox one and if not why do you even care and if you are then maybe you shouldn't since you don't think its worth 500 price tag

Not at $500 I'm not. Will eventually get it once the price hits $399, or lower. Really don't want that Kinect.

Cows can't stand the fact that some people actually prefer the Xbox One, it drives them insane.

"bu bu bu why aren't you emotionally attached to the PS4 like me" :(

Right on. Console launches are always loony season but Sony fanboys act like pathetic insecure babies every time.

and yet both of you cant except people who prefer Sony based on their opinions. lmao.

Accept. And way to prove their point.

I can deal with the fact that the Xbone is less powerful than the PS4, what I don't agree with is the $100 premium they are asking for. Kinect is not a killer app. If the Xbone was priced at $349.99 without Kinect I would have been on it faster than flies on crap, but unfortunately MS still has a hardy for motion gaming.

Average Joe Gamer or Mom and Dad are simply going to see the $100 difference in price and the fact that they can get CoD Ghosts, BF4, Madden 25, NBA 2K14, FIFA 14, NFS and AC4 on that less expensive system. I simply can't imagine how a sales clerk at a big box store like Best Buy, H.H. Gregg or even at Target, Walmart or Gamestop is going to sell someone on the XBOX ONE. There is no Halo or Gears of War game to give the system recognizeability. Forza 5 and all racing games are niche titles, so that wont help a ton either. Heck, even a Kinect-centric game like Kinect Sports Rivals isn't even available at launch. How in the world are they going to push the XBOX ONE on the common gamer?? Im talking about the ones that don't frequent sites like this, don't subscribe to a gaming mag and don't stand in line at midnight for a launch. How does the XBOX ONE get those people at $100 more than the PS4?

You asked me why the 360 sold better than the PS3 in NA and I gave you the main reasons. PS4 won't suffer the same fate. PS4 will outsell the Xbone in NA and that isn't fanboy talk. Microsoft's only chance is a price cut.
