I was playing on a buddy's PS3 and was playing some Oblivion but man it's hard to use a gamepad let alone a DS3 to play Oblivion. I was playing his mage character and I couldn't hit anything with my flares. Some games are better off on PC's than consoles (FPS, RTS, some RPG's) consoles should just stick to the games they're meant for (fighters, platformers, action/adventure, sports)corn_dogs

Actually it is exaclty because i hate playing with a keyboard/mouse and i find it 100% akward and strange, that i get all my games on consoles and not on PC

To me playing with a pad is 1000x more important than a bit better visuals on PC

Games that are not on cosnole, i wish they come, because i either skip them or am force d to play them on PC which sucks so much that destroy those games for me totally

Thank god all PC RPG's are coming the 360 way, hopefully Diablo 3 too, i would never buy that game on PC

LOL, it sounds like your trying to convinced yourself that you don't like PC gaming. Don't worry, when you grow up you will be able to buy your very own gaming PC, but I'm afraid for now your stuck with console gaming.

For you mighty pc gamers who are so skilled, playing with a gamepad should be no problem. Or has playing with K&M made you weak in the gaming force? as for Fallout 3, it is best played on a console, unless you want the crispest graphics though. Simply because you use VATS anyways, and shooting by freehand still uses the same algorythem as VATS to determine if you hit or not.

There is no way in hell Fallout 3 is best played on console. Not only does the PC version have the best graphics and more precise controls, it also has mods, which are a vital part of Bethesda's games and will increase the replay value dramatically.

The shooting in Fallout3 sucks on a gamepad, but tbh it's not great on mouse either, the enemies are just too fast and the aiming clumsy, unresponsive and most of the early weapons have slow rate of fire and reloading is slow. It's just not a very good shooter. The inventory is badly designed too whether you play on a pad or a kb/m.

I refuse to comment on mouse and keyboard for a control method, as last time I did this (and created a thread about it) I got shot down.,....badly...

But a controller is a perfectly good way to play a game. Infact I think it is the best overall performer as a control method when all genres are taken into consideration.

lol This thread gave me a good laugh. So many people talking about Fallout 3 when the TC talked about Oblivion only. Just goes to show how many people don't read topic creators' 1st posts.

[QUOTE="corn_dogs"] It's the better of the console version.world69star69

No it isn't. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Spoken by a rabid lemming of course you people deny it. The PS3 version was developed after xbox version of Oblivion, and has improved draw distance, textures and better frame rate. It was proven long ago when it came out. Just because you don't own a ps3 and like to bash things you don't own, why? I don't know why fanboys do this..insecurity maybe, the nativity of youth? Or just to annoy people that aren't rabid fanboys ?

Why do people embarrass themselves with this kind of nonsense? I own a PS3.

You didn't pay much attention to what I said passed console did you? I said why its not as good on PC as on console. Try reading it again. I do have it for both the PS3 AND my pc, and I still prefer the PS3 version. Because of the controles. If you actualy hit where you aimed then it wouldn't be much of a difference and it would all come down to prefs, but the game isn't like that. The game throws a dice to see if you hit or not base on where you stand, stats, gun and skill. Though it does this well at close combat it doesn't at range.

How can people play games sitting on a chair more then one hour? Really, its a matter of taste and choice.

Btw, Oblivion IS better on PS3, almost every review mentioned that it has better textures, draw distance, framerate etc... compared to the 360 version, so stop being fanboys.

Sorry if I miss-understood you, but it seemed like you said it was best played on a console. I got tired of VATs not long after I bought the game, and if it wasn't for some mods that made VATs more interesting I would've probably stopped using it all together. I honestly can't playthrough a Bethesda game twice without mods, so the PC version is necessity for me. I've also played this game on my 360 and I found the controls awful, I can stand (and enjoy) shooting games on consoles like Halo 3 or CoD4, but the aiming was terrible in Fallout 3

The updated shaders etc. were patched into the 360 version. The 360 version has more content also I believe.

They can have patched some things, but its still not the same as the PS3 version, the PS3 has better loading times and framerate, so that makes it the best version. Come on people, you know the PS3 Oblivion is the best version, just like Fallout 3 is better on the 360.

If you can find a comparison which compares the PS3 version to the latest 360 version with the game installed to the HD and still says the visuals/framerate/load times are btter then I'll agree.
