How can people stand visuals like this? (56k warning)

I can't even tell what I'm looking at. Look at the girl on the swivel chair. What part is the chair and what part is the body? What the hell is this stuff Nintendo? I'm not going to blame Capcom because they know how to do amazing graphics. Nintendo gave Capcom a system that just can't cut it. Look at these visuals below instead. Man, for $50 more you can have these graphics. Highly pleasing on the eyes and non-confusing, which is why devs prefer Xbox 360/PS3 more:

Nintendo may have made the wrong decision this gen. $50 more and you get HD graphics and real next-gen hardware inside.

For certain games the Wii definitely isn't the right platform, but have you played Resident Evil 4 on the Wii? It's wayyyy more fun. Metroid Prime 3 on the system is amazing, and although the graphics could use work, the wiimote makes for some pretty awesome battles. I'm not 100% convinced developers will always take advantage of the Wii's unique controls with every game that comes out, but when you play games like Link's Crossbow training, you get it. Your best bet is to pick up at least a PS3/360 and a Wii, if not just purchase them all. The Wii may not be superior to the other 2 systems, but the 360 and PS3 can't replicate the experience you have playing games on the Wii.

Watch this, this game looks incredibly fun, so that supercedes the graphics in my book, but I never found this game blindingly disgusting, so I guess that has something to do with it. And usually I don't play games that look bad, because if I can't find myself being convinced by the presentation, then I deem it as not playable.

If they can say that, I can say this about the disappointing visuals. I even allowed the Wii some time to catch up. Perhaps devs have not fully understood the Wii (as if it was so complex lol) and now even a 2008-released game like No More Heroes looks like this is just awful. Actually, no, you are a well documented Wii hater. You are also considered by me, the most knowledgable gamespot poster, imo, to be a complete fraud.

In this post, you sir, used nearly unfindable, early test screens taken off screen and compared them to the best available Screens from Devil May Cry 3.

As I easily owned you earlier in this post with my comparisons of actual screenshots from nearly finished products of both games, I don't feel the need to tell you anything but congratulations.

This topic has done well. Most of these people, apparently, don't have the skill necessary to battle a semi-intelligent Wii hater, such as yourself. I however, do. You've suceeded in turning a few of this flock of uneducated masses against a great game, by using false screenshots. Congradulations.

Unfortunately for you, anything you, or I do here, will have no affect on the juggernaut of the sales world that is the Wii.

Compared to Nintendo's weekly sales, of the DS and the Wii, which make up nearly 60 percent of the entire video game market, sales of the microsoft and sony products, which you so adamantly defend, are nothing short of pathetic.

I would challenge you, if you can, to bring me some factual evidence. That means, something besides your opinion, and your flock of Wii haters that you have tricked into believing you. That means, none of your pathetic deductions or excuses, or predictions. Bring me some factual evidence that the Wii is largely selling to children. Bring me some factual evidence that Wii games aren't as fun or engaging to the hardcore gamers as are games for the 360, or the PS3.

This evidence doesn't exist. Therefore, you argument, unfortunately, was doomed from the start. You can't win with opinion alone. Not when you don't have a controlling majority. No matter how many fragile little minds your able to sway with your pathetic, long winded, troll topics, it won't change a single thing about the popularity and quality of the hardware race.

Let's be honest; anyone could've had the brainchild that the Wii "needs better hardware". Let's see...A system with motion controls and Xbox graphics, or a one with the same controls, and a graphics card which can max out Crysis? Obviously better graphics would enhance the experience, but they're not the only thing that matters. You say you appreciate "classic cinema"; why? For the most part you can't watch it in HD, and the farther back you go, the more exaggerated the acting becomes, the sound quality lowers, and some movies *gasp* are not even in color! And yet you're willing to allow this in appreciation of the art that is the movie, but not in videogames? Most of us here can probably name a favorite game that isn't on the current generation of consoles (the original Super Mario Bros., for example, or Final Fantasy VI), which should tell you that gameplay is more important than graphics over time. I 100% agree that the Wii could use an upgrade, but then again, if the games are good enough, the upgrade isn't as important. You plunk down $250, and you get a console, a game, and a motion controller that suddenly makes the simplest things interesting to do. I'd say that's worth it, right there. Videogames might not aspire to the heights of literature just yet, but they involve you in ways that even books and movies can't, and graphical fidelity is only one part of that.

Your ignorance is amazing. Capcom has absolutely nothing to do with No More Heroes. Grasshopper Manufacturer is a small time dev with very little backing. The fact that you compare NMH to DMC 4 which probably has a budget ten times that of NMH along with a dev team twice its size and with far more experience is just pathetic.

NMH is my most awaited game, but I have no problem admitting that Suda and Grasshopper are pretty poor on the technical side and that NMH is far from being a good expample of Wii's capabilities.

Where does it tell me these things? Does that stop sheep from using IGN (they use it all the time) You're making more assumptions than me. I'm just posting what IGN posts.

And if this is Ubisoft, they are famous for posting Bullshots. Earlier batch of screens look sharp and almost "next-gen" in some spots. Then the actual game is released and we all notice it doesn't match up to the earlier shots.It has happened a lot with Ubisoft, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens with No More Heroes. Ubisoft uses Bullshots on the cover of their games!

And if you want me to address something, how about you address something? Forget NMH. (I dont feel well looking at it a second longer) One game down. Where are the other amazing visuals on the Wii? Where do I point my head to, because I'm sure not seeing them. I'm looking for this Post-Xbox1 Renaissance of Wii visuals. I am waiting here to be astonished and floored. Yet, nota trickle has come in, no flood of developers or games to show in 2008.

I agree with you on that one. But to me Bioshock 2 was a bad game, maybe it was because I actually played System Shock 2, and felt like, gee this game is missing wayy to much stuff.

I haven't played SS2, but I've heard similar things and won't argue there.It accomplished the best it could during that time. But now about Bioshock -- would it be as terrifying and atmospheric on N64? For the few exceptions where a classic game trumps the current one (sequel, spiritual sequel, whatever you call it), there are just as many great examples of current games that far surpass the older games.. I know both sides have examples, but the fact that the current generation of games has so many great examples shows it's worth something. Half-Life 2 without its physics is a degraded experience. If you don't want to defend hardware I will.

Otherwise we'd follow what you want -- stick with Pentium 3 computers and stick with NES, SNES or N64 graphics well into 2050. Sorry to say, but my persistent embrace of the evolution of hardware makes a helluva lot more sense than sticking with the same hardware forever and constantly singing hymns to old games.

And I can't believe a painting example had to be mercilessly dragged into here. Picasso had the entire gamut of tools to express himself. He had all sorts of choices. He chose abstract, violent shapes to speak to the world. I would never say he was inferior to Caravaggio because I've seen Picasso's sketches. He could outdraw the common man and drew just as well as the 16th century painters. Paintings do not belong in a video game discussion. You're dirtying some names that should be left to their tranquil places. Please don't ever do that again.

The Wii or Xbox 360 did not reshape thinking like the art masters. As passionate as I may get about video games, I always remember it doesnt amount to much in comparison to the greater things in life. Don't wake the art lion in me!!!

Maybe in terms of pure horsepower, but in terms of art direction, the only title that can compete with SMG is World of Warcraft IMO.

You know, it's funny. People said the same thing about Killer 7, and yet I still went out and picked that up. And you know what I found? A game that had a deeper story / meaning then almost any big budget game that came out that year.

the wii isn't proving anything expect that hype >>> Quality. The only game which is amazing and done properly is SMG. Metroid Prime had great controls, but the game itself was uninspiring. Paper mario was dumbed down and Zelda:TP played better on the Gamecube.

Seriously, the 360 is by FAR the best console this generation. Offering great online, amazing gameplay and great graphics. The only problem the 360 has is that it's expensive, but for the wii to be any kind of fun you're probably going to have to pay just as much as the 360...

Yes its pretty ugly. Why are people hyped for this game? The blood and plitting people in half? Gears of War did that already, so this game will flop.

mostly for the gameplay and also for the awesome story. Mark my words, NMH will have the best story of any game this generation so far. Of course, I can never really prove that. But in my eyes it will be.

the wii isn't proving anything expect that hype >>> Quality. The only game which is amazing and done properly is SMG. Metroid Prime had great controls, but the game itself was uninspiring. Paper mario was dumbed down and Zelda:TP played better on the Gamecube.
