I don't understand, it has twice the ability of the DS. It's practically like having a PS2 in your hand. Sony has a HUGE library of PS1 classics they could port. Why do we not see games like FF7 yet on the PSP? There's so many extra things you can do with a PSP when modding it.

Sony really screwed the pooch with the PSP. Right now, it should be outselling DS 2:1 and have a lot more AAA games.

Because people don't want a ps2 in their hand, they want actual handheld games that you can play for a few minutes and put away and pick up where you left off later.

Why do you want to see MORE ports on the psp? Too many ports is the very reason the ds did so much better. Why buy a PSP game when you can buy the superior ps2 version of the same game, which was often cheaper?

It's a shame, though. i've bought the psp on more than 1 occasion and been disapointed by it. I have one now, and i thnk i'm about to get rid of it.

You just don't get it. Graphics dont make a purchase.

1. Fun factor (DS wins)

2. Casual Appeal (DS wins)

3. Price (DS wins).

You like PS2 games, then play your PS2.

I wanted a game system that has games that I wasn't playing at home... and the PSP didn't have that for a while after it's release...

Exactly. People want "pick up and go" games for their handheld.

To the TC:

Why do you think the DS is selling so much better? Because maybe it's actually giving people what they want. If you want a PS2, then why not just buy a PS2? Why would I want to buy a PSP? So I can replay the games already on the PS2?

psp has a poor line up with a few great games . but its just a hand held that wants to be both a console and a hand held and fails at both . i had one for a year i got sick of it . the system busted to times on me . its break so easy i got "disc read error" both times . the screen cant be seen out doors at all funny thing cus its called a " hand held" the controllers are bad . have the same problem as n64 only one joy stick. making shooters have poo for controlls.

It is the best handheld for me. I can play DJMAX P2 while sitting waiting for my next cIass. I can listen to my music while riding on the bus. And I can watch episodes of television shows at work. It may not be the best gaming handheld but it is pretty much the best portable multimedia entertainment device.

Because it's not a quick "on the go thing"

That's why I trade my PSP for a DS today. Simply put, most of the time with the DS I can take it out and be playing within 10 seconds. With the PSP I have to wait for load times etc. It's trying to be a mini-console, not a portable device for use wherever I want :)

It does, but it's line up is primarily exclusive. The PSP has some awsome exclusive games now, but they were too little too late as far as I and i'm sure other people were concerned.

I like the PSP better. The games are better, the remote play is great, and it just works better for me overall. I had the DS but after Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Hunters came out nothing was fun for me on the DS so I gave it to my girlfriends little brother.

Man, if they ported 'classics' like ff7 to the psp you'd have to carry about a a few UMD's for one game....that's not poratble gaming.

surf the net? does that even apply? does any one even use this thing to surf the net? not only does it LOAD SO slowly even with the fastest wireless connection available, ALL Sites look like CRAP i mean come on who uses the psp to surf the net? even the opera browser for the DS works better you atleast get the use the stylus for it.

Wow, you sure proved your point  When you can find me an Ipod or Zune that can play games then I'll agree with you. Untill then the PSP is the better multimedia device. Also the new psp loads everything faster due to it has more ram.

The DS hasnt had good games since Mario Kart and Hunters. Phantom Hourglass was ok but I think the PSP has much better games than the DS. God of War,Socom, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear, Patapon, and MLB The Show are all great games that I enjoyed much more than Hunters, Mario Kart, NSMB, Brain Age, and Hourglass.

If you like PS2 ports then okay. I mean, why do you by a handheld to play watered down console games? The DS has some truly original and creative games. The only ones I can think of on the PSP are lumines, Loco Roco, and EXIT.

I'm sorry, games that play very much like their console counterpart but not quite as good. Its a handheld, do you expect it to play as good as a PS2/PS3? And how are they watered down? They were built specifically for the PSP -the games I mentioned- so what were they watered down from? You keep using the same argument throughout this to thread so I am not going to waste my time. You know how I feel and I know how you feel. The End.

The things that stop the PSP being as successful as the DS battery time, price, and more casual appealing games. Still the PSP is a fairly well selling console. Its not uncommon anymore for it to outsell the DS and the Wii in japan every week or two.

Aww did I hit a nerve? They are watered down because they don't play as well, plain and simple. They are shorter games, with controls that don't work as well as the console versions. Name me a FPS that plays as well on the PSP as the PS2. Seriously, how can you not see that they are watered down console games? You're playing rehash games that ern't as good. Can you not see that?

Its a handheld, do you expect it to play as good as a PS2/PS3? And how are they watered down? They were built specifically for the PSP -the games I mentioned- so what were they watered down from? You keep using the same argument throughout this to thread so I am not going to waste my time. You know how I feel and I know how you feel. The End.

Can you not see that?

the same thing can said for

Zelda PH

Ninja gaiden DS

FF3 DS

Assasin creed DS

Yeah, you hit a nerve. But what about games like Loco Roco, Patapon(great game by the way), Lumines, Exit, and Tokobot are all original games for the PSP. Portable Ops and Dark Mirror both play great and not to mention there online components are great. How about this, name a DS FPS that works well....without cramping your hand(MPH). And do you even have a PSP? God of War had tight controls as did Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Wipeout, and Ridger Racer. I just like the PSP library more than the DS library.

The difference is that none of those are ports.

I can't get any of those games on any other system or handheld. (COD4 and Assassin's Creed are completely different than the console versions)

With the PSP, I can play the same version of it's games with better graphics and controls.

GBC is the best handheld of all time.TheMysticHorse

No, not even close.

DS is the first handheld that doesn't feel like a watered down console experience.

True, but you can find many more innovative and refreshing games on the DS then the PSP. The DS doesn't rely on console games, it has many original and new IP's that make it standout.

[QUOTE="II-FBIsniper-II"]Because people don't want a ps2 in their hand, they want actual handheld games that you can play for a few minutes and put away and pick up where you left off later.karasill

Agree with this whole post.
