None of those games are particularly good, though. DoA is considered by most to be average, though IMO it's absolutely awful. Blue Dragon got high scores from Famitsu but it's flopping over here. Eternal Sonata is meh. Enchanted Arms sucks and isn't exclusive anymore. And Kameo isn't even Japanese at all.
It also doesn't help that the advertising campaign for the 360 in Japan was designed by a pair of leprous chimpanzees. Just look up some ads on Youtube and you'll see.

Dead or Alive has never been well-accepted in Japan as far as I know.
I heard Enchanted Arms was terrible.
Kameo, pretty good game. I'm playing it right now, but it's not even appreciated by many in America and I doubt it was ever intended for the Japanese audience.
The Xbox 360 needs a franchise that's much more well established in Japan. Having a few famous people such as Toriyama, Sakaguchi, and Uematsu work on a game isn't going to cut it.

Garbage? you mean like this?
Yep that is the inside of an XBOX360, looks like a bunch of cheap hardware to me.. Looks like Japan have got every right to dislike american hardware with this shoddyness. Oh have you not seen the inside of a PS3, looks mint. :)

Ouch. I'd hate to hear what happened when Devil May Cry became multiplatform.
Maybe I should have stated sales-wise. There are many games that are well-accepted yet don't sell much.
Because the japanese don't trust american products and stick to simple games like Wii Sport and Brain Age.Aljosa23
wrong. the iPod is wildly popular in japan, as other many other things from western culture.
Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, DOA4.
From japanese companies, western based: Lost planet/dead rising.
to come: lost odyssey, infinite undiscovery, cry on, ninja gaiden 2, DOA5
Multiplats which will sell like crap: DMC4, RE5, Las Remnant
and a few small, crappy games like idol master.
5 games? if the PS3 (or 360, it doesn't matter) had this many games that appealed to you you would call it crap.Hewkii
well future games also like lost odyssey, infinite undiscovery, cry on, magna carta 2 i still don't think they will make a difference though but its nice they are trying..

still, that's only 9. and you're assuming that every Japanese person will like all 9 of those games. maybe they only like the colorful RPGs, not the fighting genre or the serious RPGs.

It's called brand recognition, Sony and Nintendo have it hardcore in Japan!
