because resident evil 5 was crap?sts106mat

I love the nostalgic psychic gypsies we have in here, Knowing Capcoms past history of talent and quality..somehow according to these haters, Capcom can't redeem themselves. RE5 was only a reskinned RE4, targeted towards a bigger audience. It was just ONE game poorly excited due to pure greed and bad decisions. There is always a crap series in a franchise. RE6 is totally different, pretty much everything in the game has been reworked redone and improved. (going by the demo)

its not just that resident evil was crap, capcoms whole "hiding DLC" on the disc and charging for it, re-releasing the same games in multiple versions, they dont learn, i haven't bought a capcom game since Resident Evil 5 and wont be buying 6 either. you say the demo is good, thats fair enough, does it still make you stand still on the spot to shoot?

Hell no, haven't you seen any footage? you can move shoot, dive backwards sideways even roll on the ground and shoot..everything has been reworked and new mechanics implemented. The overall combat system is much more satisfying and UP TO DATE it works very well and isn't in any way limited. Why are you judging RE6, based off DLC? Capcom greedy? sure...finacially they needed to keep up and overall ideas and things changed, but RE6 as promised will please the majority, not to mention the huge dev team (biggest ever) behind the game this time. Just wait and see or ATLEAST try the demo.

the question in the thread title is "how can you not be excited for resident evil 6?" my answer was plain and simple = "because resident evil 5 was crap"/

I haven't looked at the game, other than the e3 trailer, (which was boring btw), why would I? if i don't like something, i don't think to myself "oh i'll get excited for the next game they make"

So that is why i cannot be excited for it, its capcoms job to MAKE me be excited for it, too bad they p!ssed me off with resident evil 5 and all the greedy dlc stuff.

Now, if RESI 6 gets rave reviews, i might show a bit of interest in it and maybe even change my mind, however i dont see either of those things happening.

that's fine, but you judged RE6 based off RE5 and Capcoms greedy DLC methods, rather than seeing the game for itself and reading up on it. Something you should always do if you're interested in such a franchise to begin with. That's all i got from you.

I'm excited. Resi 5 was a great co-op action game. If you can accept it's not gonna be Resi 2, that the series has changed, you can still enjoy it for what it is.

I thought that option where you can spawn into another players campaign as a monster is kinda cool. Reminds me of invading in a Demons/Dark Souls game. I very much enjoyed RE5, so looking forward to more RE like it.

This was pointed out to me the day the first trailer came out. Since then that is all I have ever seen when looking at the logo. It's the kind of thing that once you see it, you can't stop seeing it.

But anyway I wasn't excited at all for RE6....until the Ada gameplay was shown. Ada's gameplay just looks fantastic and much closer to RE4 than other characters gameplay I've seen. If Ada's gameplay was all I'd seen of RE6 my hype would be through the roof. But much like the giraffe blowjob logo, I can't unsee what I've seen of other characters crappy gameplay. I will approach RE6 with caution.

The survival horror aspect is awful. I don't play RE games to slaughter 50,000 zombies with guns. I learned my lesson with RE5 and mr. I can break boulders with my bare hands Redfield. It's just another crappy third person shooter.

If you have played the original RE games you would know why many people are not excited about RE5,6,and possible the future RE games.BTW,i played the originals and i dont like the new stuff,RE4 was the first step down the toilet.

Have you seen the new gameplay footage? It's 30 seconds of linear corridor shooting, then pseudo on rails boss battle, then the typical DEFEND ME WHILE I OPEN THIS DOOR. No survival, but there's plenty of horror. Horror because it looks so horribly bad. Oh, and QTEs. QTEs for everything!

4 single player stories... FOUR! I mean, who does that? Capcom is listening to all the complaints and issues, and are making changes to the game accordingly. We get everything in a single disc we like about gaming! We get hours of action (chris), hours of survival (jake), hours of horror (leon), and bonus hours that incorporates all three (ada). If you complain, something is wrong with you. Its a high quality TPS, and you are getting your moneys worth, and it has co-op! If you are not one of those complainers, how excited are you for RE6? Who is getting Anthology?Second_Hokage

Does not compute. If anything the theme and vibe of the stories will change but the gameplay will be the same. We all know that the game itself will be a very action focused action adventure or even a full blown TPS just as you said, and RE series has always had gameplay mechanics that are too clunky to be used in a full blown action game.

Evolved into WHAT exactly?

In to one of the best over the shoulder TPS of all time (and i think it popularized it too), resident evil 4. YouTube what RE4 was like before it became and over the shoulder game, that should convince you why games evolving is a good thing.

lol what RE4 was before it turned into non survival horror was a survival horror game. The little demo actually had good atmosphere from what everyone has seen. The funny thing is you can keep over the shoulder controls and still have a good survival horror atmosphere dead space showed us that.

I'm a gameplay focused gamer, and from that perspective, this looks like an all time low for the series.

I'm a gameplay focused gamer, and from that perspective, this looks like an all time low for the series.

That's understandable But it's a completely different thing to try and argue those games had gameplay anywhere near as good as what we've got with RE6. If you honestly think the gameplay of the original RE games is better than the modern games, you cannot be taken seriously at all. If you're going to hate on RE6, hate on it for ther right reasons and hate on it for not being a true horror game. If like you say you're a gameplay focused gamer, then you shouldn't give a toss about the lack of oldschool atmosphere and should consider RE6 leagues ahead of the originals from a gameplay perspective.

It will be fun with friends just like RE5 was...but i'm not going to give any of my money to Capcom, so i'll wait for the Gold Edition and get it used, but yeah, the game is looking mindless fun...however this is not RE anymore, just another TPS.

I consider the cerebral and strategical gameplay of the original Resident Evils better absolutely. They were unique and brilliant survival games. Now that Resident Evil's an action game, I must compare it to other action games. By doing that, this looks like an abysmal game...

4 halves of SP campaigns supplemented with DLCs are nothing to get excited about.

The gameplay footage so far has been meh.

Survival horror turned action adventure.

Co-op aka NPC babysitting galore.
