I think PSP sales look better than they would be if it was released today, it is lucky because it caught the big PS2 consumer base. Now with the PS3 having a small consumer base, it will be harder for the next Sony portable to get the similar numbers, mainly because of the great PSP start which actually saw it ahead of the DS for quite a while.

I can only imagine the sales of Nintendo's next handheld because it will no doubt have a better start than the DS in terms of sales and 3rd party support. Plus it will probably be backward compatible with the DS which will be a massive advantage. Seriously Sony don't stand a chance again if they release a new handheld and the way things are looking, they need to put their resources in making more PS3 1st party games and PS4.

same reason as with PS3 vs wii.price. i doubt anyone really wants to spend more that 150 max on a game device they don't really care how much multimedia features you pack in there they want to play games at $120-$150.

My own little theory? The button settup on the psp seriously sucks. Whoever decided to put the nubbin under the direction pad was an idiot. After twenty minutes of playing my thumb feels like it got slammed in a door. They had a chance to move it with the new smaller psps, why didnt they do it? WHY??
