[QUOTE="RedruM_I"]You're missing the option GT5 > Forza3 and Killzone 2 > Halo 3 which is the correct one :)Ninja-HippoI know people love to hate on Halo, but you cannot hate on it while simultaneously singing the praises of Killzone 2, which pretty much defines 'generic shooter' and puts it on a disc. Both Halo 3 & Killzone 2 are great games, you can't agree with that? I enjoyed both games, but just liked Killzone 2 more.
[QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]Neither Forza 3 nor GT 5 have sold a single copy. WTF is this thread doing here? Is it from the future?shawn7324The point doesn't even make sense. 'Either you can have Forza 3 is better than GT, or you can have Halo is better than Killzone - you cant have both!' What sense does that make? How about we go with common sense and say that the gaming community obviously thinks Halo 3 is a better game than Killzone 2 - judging by sales, sales of ODST on top of that, massive critical acclaim and redonkulous online numbers. And as far as Forza 3 and GT goes, lets wait for either to sell a single copy before we make rules on what can and cannot be said about them. Eh? :| Why do you or anyone else care what the gaming community thinks about each game? Well, this is System Wars, not General Games Discussion so....
I just saw his post saying 'yeah but forza doesn't have two games in the top 50!' and was going to respond, but gosh darn it, Adobe hit every nail on the head and tore the thread down so well it'd be pointless me saying anything else. :P I would add that i agree with adobe entirely though; why, ArmyGuy, do you insist on comparing Forza to the gran turismo games released on the original Playstation or the PS3 up to EIGHT YEARS ago, rather than the Gran Turismo games that have been released alongside Forza? Forza received more critical acclaim than GT4. And Forza 2 received more critical acclaim than GT5: Prologue. And GT on the PSP hasn't received very good reviews at all. So if we compare the games to each other based on GT games released while Forza has actually existed as a franchise, i think the higher quality is definately on the side of Forza, dont you? Or would you prefer to compare it to a PS1 game?First off, Halo 3 IS the more successful game than Killzone 2, in sales and scores (going by Gamespot, Metacritic, and Gamerankings). So this hardly helps your case ArmyGuy.
Forza 2 may not have sold as well as GT 4, the game that was released in the same window, but it did outscore it. So of course when comparing Forza and GT,. do the cows compare games in the same release cycle? Of course not, they fall back on a game from EIGHT YEARS AGO, and no matter what, still proclaim it/s 9.4 >>> 9.2.
Which brings me to my next point. ArmyGuy, you want to talk about hypocrisy??? What about the double standards of aging of games? Cows want to insist that Halo 3's 9.5 doesn't measure up to Killzone 2's 9.0, because of "progressing standards". Which is fair enough. So why does this same principle not apply to the Forza vs GT argument? Then all of the sudden, GT3's 9.4 score is etched in stone and retains its value for... 8... 15... hell even 40 years as far as cows are concerned!
Of course they have to use a game not only from EIGHT YEARS AGO, but also the last GT game that was out before there was any other sim racer competiton on consoles (Forza) for reviewers to have anything to compare the standards for. They will always use that 9.4 from 4 years prior to Forza 2 with its 9.2, just because they want to have a better number to use.
So Halo 3's score, still in the same generation, doesn't hold up to KZ2 in "changing standards", but GT3, a game from a whole previous gen, can ALWAYS be used against Forza 2 to say it's actually better.
Ain't that just grand :roll::roll:

Discussing things. :| It's one thing to discuss something, but another to actually care. Most if not all in here seem like you really care & take nearly every post personal. I'm sorry to have bothered you all, commence back to your my game is better no my game is better discussion.
So, why is anyone even talking about last gen consoles?
Only Forza 2 and GT5P should be used in arguments, Forza 3 and GT5 have yet to reach the hands of any consumers, and Forza 3 has only been reviewed by a handful of reviewers.
(All race sims suck, by the way.)

You almost had it. What's REALLY missing from the poll is 'Forza > GT AND Halo > Killzone' ;)
