How did GTAIV get a 10?

The only explanation I can give you is Rockstar paid every reveiwer out there to give this game perfect ratings.. Either that or most reviewers are a bunch of graphics whores and scored it a 10 solely based on eye candy alone and maybe the OMG new gta game hype factor because there is no way in a million bazillion cartrillion light years that GTA4 deserves a 10 score. Don't make me laugh all you reveiwers out there. You fail. Rockstar lined your pockets with gold and you did exactly what was ordered.

GTA4 was and is amazing, regardless of what lame people say who hate anything that's on top.

It's not necessarily a 10, but it's worth a 9.5 or 9.0 if you choose to nitpick. It could've been a 10 if they kept all the fun San Andreas stuff, but after you beat the main storyline, it feels like there's not much else to do, where as in San Andreas I had fun for a while putting on the invincible cars cheat and flying the harrier jet crashing into everything in Los Angeles.

I love the more realistic approach for GTA4, but it's just not as fun, and there were barely any codes plus the codes are harder to enter. Imagine all those pedestrian cheats from the previous GTA with the new physics system, it would be insane but they didn't go that route unfortunately. If they can mix realism with that fun stuff from last-gen it could be a 10 as far as i'm concerned.

No not all companies, Rockstar and Bungie however. Halo 3 and GTA4 just wearn't that great. How in gods name then did they recieve the scores they got is beyond me but if I could guess I would go with the fact that the reviewers sold there souls to rockstar and bungie for a large sum of money.

Theres no way in hell there going to let negative scores slide for an already bound to sell well game, theres just too much money involved in making these games. They just have to sell well no matter what and if that means paying for better reveiw scores then so be it.

Nah, MGS4 is far more overrated than GTA, Halo, and CS.

MGS4 deserved a 9.5 highest because it had the worst multiplayer I've ever played. The single player was mind blowing though.

That, and the fact that both games were going to sell millions of copies regardless of reviews.

Games that are less high-profile are the games that need good reviews for the boost.

Well, To me MGS4 is the GREATEST GAME I EVER played in 40 years so was that hype? No.

its just an opinion so it doesnt matter, to GameSpot its a 10 in their eyes as MGS4 is a 1000000000000000/5 to mine.
