How did Halo 4 win Best Graphics of 2012... Was this year really that medcore??

I'm a PC gamer, and Halo 4 blew me away visually. The lighting was fantastic and the presentation was spot on.

They combine both artistic and technical. At the end of the day, their decision is their decision. It's not even close to the most technical, but I loved the artistic direction.

I honestly can't see why people could not appreciate a great game instead of let their fanboyism blind them but hey, what ever floats your boat if it makes you happy :), In my opinion halo 4 is a great game and the graphics are fantastic.

Basically this. It's definitely not on par with some of the PC games released this year, but it's definitely on par with any other console game.

Because some System Warriors can't comprehend the fact that you can actually own all consoles, a high-end PC, and play all of them regularly while enjoying games on all platforms.

There's games on all platforms that I've given 5/5 to this generation (I don't do score games on a scale of 1-10.)

Art direction is all Halo 4 got going for it, dem shiny armors. It's colorful and lush, too bad the good looking environment is used for a generic shooter.

I see where you're coming from... Though when we us the term "PC" it's for the most advacned PC. It may not be absolutely accurate, but it's representing the platform.

Maybe you could listen to the justification in the beginning? It's not based solely on technical prowess, their graphics award is based on a mix of technical and artistic merits. To some extent I can agree, it's one of the best looking games this year, creating some amazing art and scenery while pushing the absolute limits of the console. Even if a lot of PC exclusives are better on a technical scale, it's a great looking game.

Halo 4 looked good but my pick would definitely be Max Payne 3. Great art design/style as well as some sexy ass "technical" graphics on both the PC and consoles. AcidSoldner

I'm not going to lie, but the game looks amazing graphically both in the MP mode and the campaign especially in the outdoor areas.There are few flaws with the game graphically besides the terrible shadows and textures in some areas.The framerate is constant and I barely experienced a framerate drop in the game.

In the same way other console games, like Uncharted and GoW, got the award in previous years. Looks fantastic for a console game, but they must not be couting PC.

Well MGS4 beat Crysis of all games on technical graphics. So anythings possible.

So much for 360 not being able to handle PS3 exclusive graphics and being maxed out with Gears 1, then Gears 2, etc, etc, yet it ends up getting the graphics king award on this gen's last year, when standards are actually at a high level.
