How do DS lover put up with those horrible graphics?

I mean I don't consider myself a graphics whore but I can't understand how anyone can put up with DS's god awful graphics. I compared Bleach on DS and Bleach on PSP. It was like 2 complete different games the DS version looked like something outta of the stone age, while PSP actually looks like a fighting game.

This is just mind boggling how can you DS lovers play through entire games that look so wretched. I'm convinced that most DS lovers have never touched a PSP and have no idea what they are missing.

How could you possibly enjoy a handheld without Pokemon? It makes no rational sense. When I look at D/P and see that the PSP has nothing of the caliber, I can't understand how poeple can endure the torture.

I know exactly what im missing dreamcast graphics. Oh wait ive seen them. I stick by this handheld games in no means need to have good graphics. /thread

Maybe cause they were 2 completely different games. Porting games over is pointless, we put up with it by not buying half assed psp ports.

Honestly I don't see why it wouldn't, the GBA ran an admittedly stripped down version of Alpha 3, but the DS seems to have the capabilities to do something like that without too much trouble.

And to the TC's post. HTS is crap, at least the DS games are good. In short the two games ARE completely different, they weren't even made by the same developer.

Half a gneeration's difference from psp. The better DS games look above late N64. The Better PSP games, look early PS2. That's about half a gen of difference.

The first game I played was Bleach, I was like WTF is this, cause I have Bleach on PSP and it was actually good. Then I played Mario Cart I was like what where's lighting the game looks like an old Saturn racers with stripped down polygon count.

Because Gameplay>Graphics.

If I were to pick up a PSP I would end up missing Pokemon and great FF RPG's that the PSP is JUST starting to get. I would also be missing great games such as Jump! Ultimate Super Stars. And the graphics aren't bad for a handheld. To tell you the truth, I find them equal comparing it to some of PSP's game that actually interest me.

to have the time to even look at the graphics, they aren't even bad, they're just jagged because
of the DS's small screen.

BTW, Bleach DS plays better and its more fun than Bleach on the PSP!!!

Well I certainly trust you! I mean... you're REALLY convinced, right? Cause I've based ragged bloody chunks of my life off of the certainty of others. As you're convinced, I guess I DON'T have a PSP and DS. I sure thought I did...

In all seriousness though, stone age graphics? You're either really young, really stupid, or want to be really loud. The DS has graphics which surpass the GBA. You know the GBA? The portable that dominated the market and kept the lion's share of console makers from even TRYING to produce a portable system? Yeah. That's the one.

I agree. PSP has better graphics and is finally getting those games I wanted when I bought it in the first place (Metal Gear Portable Ops, Ratchet and Clank, Silent Hill Origins, Dracula X)

But the fact that apparently DS quality graphics cause you physical discomfort isn't a problem with the DS, pal. The fact YOUR mind is boggling is regrettable, but if you've been in this hobby for a protracted time, then you would have played and LOVED games and systems that were well below DS in terms of graphics.

I stirred up the hornets nest on that one, now half the folks here and all of Japan hate me. I was just calling it as I saw it, I don't consider myself a graphics whore in that I drool over Crysis and what not, but I do need a certain anout of graphical goodness to be able to play through a game. I don't wanna have to go back to Pong and Tetris if I don't have to. I even started playing those old Final Fantasy Anniversay games on PSP, but even those games with their redrawn sprites look sharper than DS. I don't mind the DS screen but why are the games so jaggy and why are the 2D games so pixelated. I expect the 2D games to at least look like Street Fighter Alpha on PSP.
