I didn't like the idea when it debuted in Home and I don't like it now.
I'm fine with the default clothing, thank you.
I don't actually care im not gonna buy it so i dont see a problem if people want it then go ahead, one cant really complain about something thats there yet your not forced to buy.
I honestly think its stupid. IF they could blend trophies or achievements to unlock clothes that would be sick.
I feel sorry for the people that buy it and I feel somewhat angry at MS and Sony for taking advantage and exploiting the easy simple minded casual consumer.
It's despicable. Simply by saying your not buying it, isn't going to resolve the problem. Thats just running away from it. Like a coward. Complain away people.

They know what they're paying for.

They know what they're paying for. Yes, they are and what I'm saying is most casuals are completely oblivious to what their buying and abit stupid. They shouldn't be so foolish as to be wasting money on virtual clothing. Whats to blame then? The scumbag game developers or the stupidity? Stupidity can't really be helped, whereas being scum of the earth can.
I dont put it in the same category as milkage. Its just one of those things that if you want it, you can get it. Not a big deal. I pass on it though.

If they don't, it's their fault for not paying attention. Microsoft isn't putting their bets on people buying this by accident, or without knowing exactly what it is, since no one will.
I think one or two ps3 games already support this and ms games will be supporting the idea. So if get 1000g in Transformers your avatar I guess can have that chevy camero from the movie.I honestly think its stupid. IF they could blend trophies or achievements to unlock clothes that would be sick.

Oh about paying for virtual clothing, I have 30 ms points left and I cant buy anything with it but if I could waste it on stupid avatar clothing at 10pts a piece I would do that
I buy the occasional theme/gamerpicture, so this isn't really any different to me.
Though, this is probably the last thing I'll buy. You can't really top being a pirate.
I only ended up spending about 500pts.
And, anyways, eventually there will be more games that support avatars, so this will get used more than just a prop on the DashBoard.
excellent, i've spent over £200 decorating my avatars and my virtual home...
i would never buy these at all, i never use home. the avatars look at me for 10 seconds while i sign in and load up the game so i doubt i will ever pay for either.
i don't pay for any dlc unless it's a downloadable game like braid, so i guess the chAnce of me buying clothes etc. are round about 0%
That doesnt irk me as much as when you have to pay 2 bucks apeice to get different/upgraded weapons, a la Dead Sace...you'd have to spend another $30 bucks on top of the game to get all the upgraded weapons! Thats booty, son!!!
idc because i don't buy them but somewhere someone will and i won't judge them for it... they earned the $ so they can do with it what they want
I'm not going to buy any clothing for home or avatars as they're both garbage and useless IMO.Flamestos
game set and match, avatars and home are the worst thing to happen to HD system this gen (other than RROD)
I have bought clothing for Maple Story before....HarlockJCBut Maple is a game right? Yes it is...It's the same concept, I wanted to look cool at the time I was playing. I spent like $10 to look cool and there are people who will be willing to do that for their avatar. MS is hopping to target the teenage girl by adding Facebook and twitter. Did you see the last E3 that is a large market MS is going after.
Wait, you have to pay for that junk? OMFG, what a load of garbage. I'm just wondering if people actually buy that crap.
The problem isn't with microtransactions, the problem lies with what you're buying the costumes for. I can see it taking root and making tons of money in an MMO because you're constantly spending time on that character. However, Home and Avatars don't really integrate into any game, and few people actually care about them. I mean, sure, it doesn't hurt them to run a microtransaction business on the side, and they'll probably make a tidy sum of money off of it, but it's not boing to be a crucial part of the experience.
80 Points seems steep when you won't see your avatar in many places at all... More keen on achievement unlockable accessories, but that said, the sims 3 content gets sold like crazy and I doubt this venture will be any different...SykmynSims is a game based off having design specific items for your character of their house or whatever plus the things you buy you actually get to use when you play the actual game. so its no wonder why it is the way it is. not quite the same when your virtual avatar jsut stands there and does nothing at all....
Don't care, if I see something I like, I don't mind spending money on it. Even if I spent a hundred dollars on avatar clothing, it's a negligible amount. Though I highly doubt I'll be spending even a tenth of that.DonPerianno the hell it isnt a negligible amount. i dont know by what scale you measure your spending and on, but...meh......whatever. its not my money. ill buy some games while you enjoy your virtual hat, shoes and wheelchair

You're right, it isnt your money. No one is forced to buy this stuff, it is there for those of us who choose to so i really dont see the problem here.
Real money for virtual clothes=fail. If they expect me to dish about real money, they better send me a freaking T-shirt in the mail. The only I would pay for a digital outfit is with some kind of digital currency.
