We do it because it's not as hard as you would think.... I've been a PC gamer up until this year, I had no problem using an analog stick... :/

I definatly come from the school of FPS's on the PC. From back of the days of the first Quake game. I have bought a 360 and I do play FPS games on the console at times..

All I can tell you is from my exerience its not as easy, of course you cant spin around as fast because the mouse is almost instant. But as long as your playing with other console players at least the playing field is fair. I would imagine though if they where pitted against PC players it would be non stop ownage in Multiplayer.

And in the end if I like the multiplayer a ton like Team Fortress 2. I will get it on the PC. But games like Bioshock the controller does just fine

There are a lot of reasons. There isn't (and please correct me if I am wrong here) a keyboard/mouse setup for 360s. Point and click is kinda lame. And um I guess controllers are more intuitive for some people?

I just do that I don't know how sometimes I'm not good because sometimes when I run I'm looking at the ground but that is what I do in real life I'm always look at the ground when I'm walking, also it isn't that hard but I have been playing them on consoles since 1998, but I played FPSs on PC before that like Heretic, but now that i played Metroid Prime 3 I hope more come to the Wii since I like that method of control but FPSs isn't my favorite Genre.

If I'm trying to be competitive I wouldn't use anything but the KB/M combo. However, I've come to enjoy dual analog set up, not even sure why (I even find it more challenging since it's not really as intuitive as pointing at something with a mouse).

I hit a button, move with the analog stick, and shoot with the trigger. What's so hard to under stand?

I've always played FPSs on consoles. My PC isn't powerful enough for recent games. I may eventually get older games for my PC, though.

they do take abit of getting used too, but i started with golden eye and now it just second nature, pulling a trigger on a 360 controller is far more satistying than just left clicking a mouse. i think a easier attack on a controller would be RTS's which are a real pain and much better with a mouse. racing games are really where a controller really excelnothingbeatscontroller for racing games

You played it on the PS3? If so play it on the 360 just because the PS3s analogues are too close together when I use the PS Controller I always use the D-Pad even for Shooters, but for the 360 I like using the Analogue stick.

yeah, it was on the ps3. i don't actually have one though=P i mean, i'm a big ut3 fan and i know that it requires a lot of fine tuning w/ your mouse that you can't really do with an analog stick. so i dunno, maybe it's something you just have to get used to:/

Well like the man said.. That's the problem. The PSbrand controllers have never been that good for FPSs. The analog sticks are placed too close together. And the L/R triggers are not molded for that type of Gameplay IMHO. Triggers like those found on the N64, Dreamcase and XB work much better.

hmm, maybe i will try it sometime on the 360 if i ever get the chance, though i won't be expecting a HUGE difference. imho though, kebo/mo combo is still better=P

the K/m combo is always more accurate.. But if you're using the PSbrand controllers it's no wonder you think its hard.

Let's end this debate as far as UT3 goes. On the PC you can use a KB&M. On the PS3 you can use a PS3 pad, KB&M, or a Splitfish Frag FX controller. UT3 is not currently available for the 360. KB&M offers superior accuracy, this is a fact. That is why you can choose to filter KB&M out of your server options if you so choose on the PS3 version.

I play UT3 on a kb/m. I just got my PC and have just started playing games on one. I am still getting used to the more fast paced kb/m yet I am getting the hang of it. I have Halo 3 and I think it is easier in some respects. It is harder to aim but it is more accesible to do activities such as reload etc etc. You just have to get used to it and you will. There is also always some degree of auto aim on a console game that isnt on the PC which helps (except for TF2 on the 360 but that sucks).

Simple: Console shooters are tweaked (mainly the hit box is scaled up, and the AI slowed) to make them practical on the dual-analog setup. So it's not ideal, but not impossible either.

consoles shooters are slower and have auto aim to make up for the imprecise controls. I do prefer KB/M though, it allows for much tighter aiming and sweet, sweet head shots.

How do you play a fps on a PC???

Just from experience that I see with my friends and what I go through everytime a new game comes out what PC owners play is buy a new tecnologically advanced title.

Go home and install it, when it refuses to run go back to the store and buy more RAM, go home dismantle the Pc install the RAM, reboot and reload aforementioned tech wonder new title then watch as it still refuses to work right.

Go back to the store drop some more money on a new video card and anything else it takes to run the new card. Go home dismantle the PC install everything, DL all the new drivers you need from fileplanet, ATI, the Game company that the new game was made by watch as the game finally fires up, spend the next two hours fiddling with the video options to get a stable framerate then not feel like playing it because it's 3 am and you just want to get some sleep.

The next day get on SW and tell everyone how great PC gaming is.

maybe because we don't suck at it ? Playing on a controller is more challening than on a mouse and keyboard but that's a good thing.

I play my FPSs using a SIXAXIS. It is both comfortable and enjoyable. I like not having to use a keyboard and mouse--Because I hate using them for anything other than RTSs.

You know, they do make those "grips" that can substitute the keyboard.

It's quite doable.....

One stick to move, one stick to aim, pull down on a trigger to shoot.

His point is that, yes, there is no queation that an analog stick is not even close to as accurate as a mouse. But again, the game makers compensate for this.

Does it mean players wouldn't be competitive against players who uses K&M? I don't think so.

I know it is much slower to aim with a controller, but you can adjust that in the option menu.
