It has its avalanche of doubters though too , based on no co-op .... that it is too much like Call of Duty and not enough like Call of Duty and hundreds of other reasons why it won't be great. Too gray , graphics aren't that special , weird animations , multiplayer stinks , not innovative enough , the enemies have red eyes , etc. Lots of mixed hype on this one. I think most would agree that they aren't really sure what score Gamespot will attach to this game and what they will come up with to knock it. This isn't a game like MGS4 , God of War II , LBP , Gears 2 , Zelda , Mario , etc hype. People are excited about the game and rightfully so , but score ? Wow , that is hard to say.
I have no doubt that you're right about people not being sure about what score Gamespot will attach to this game, but from what I've seen from the Killzone fanbois, it is all ready the greatest FPS of all time. I don't think there's any denying that outwardly, the game has been hyped to the moon. Internally, I think both the fanbois and the severely anti-Killzone people are scared, the former scared of a flop, the latter scared that it might live up to the hype.
But anybody that has been in any of those threads knows the hype from fanbois is simply monumental.
I do believe that some fanboys are believing that it will be the best FPS of all time , but I don't think many of those are even care what the game gets score-wise.Most aren't really thinking of it in terms of it having to be a 10 to be better than Halo 3 ot a 9.5 to be better than Gears 2. You know what I mean. I have only seen a few handful of people actually guaranteeing scores , but there are lot are hoping or thinking it has a great chance at a AAA score. Obviously other ps3 fans , manticores , shooter fans , etc are generally impressed with the looks and want to play the game so that ads to the general excitement and hope. The opposing fanboys are jealous of the attention obviously so they are praying that it gets under a 9.0 so they can call it a flop and demanding that it be hyped Halo Killer or whartever , and forget the things they have said in the past. Would they actually give Guerrilla some credit if it is AA or better , something they originally thought was improbable ? Probably not would be my guess , they went from it will be terrible to now inflating the hype (halo-killer) on purpose so they can knock the game.
I think I would rather be guy that is expecting it to be great and hoping for more than the guy praying that it flops everyday , but that is just me.
