How hardcore are you?

I have all current gen systems - PS4, X1, Wii U, 3DS, and Vita. I also have a GTX 970 powered PC. I still also have a PS3. In addition, I have a ton of games on backlog and still manage to preorder the upcoming ones. I always look for the best price, though. I also got a few figures laying around including amiibos. What about you, SW?

I don't think I'm all that hardcore. I have all the consoles and I've played a lot of games, but I'm pretty casual.

Ok, so I just got a X1, got a PS2 slim, a Halo lImited edition original Xbox, 2 N64 ( orange and a DK jungle green ), got me a SNES in DK box, a N3DSXL, a Japanese silver Gamecube, a NES, all those purchases this year, so what does that make me ? Oh yeah, that makes me a ---- more money than brains.

None at all. It doesn't matter how many systems or games I play. It doesn't matter how well I play them. It's a mentality that NEEDS to be taken out the back.

I game on a tight budget, only go with one console a gen, and love playing games

I can beat almost every song on the highest level of difficulty with full combos in DJ MAX Portable 1 & 2.

As a hardcore console gamer, I inject Mountain Dew and snort Doritos to enhance my Master Chief experience.

I'm not sure how that translates to "hardcore"...of course, people who talk about being "hardcore" gamers usually come off rather silly

I'm hardcore. SO HARD.

I have the X1, PS4, and 970 PC in my game room...and a wii somewhere in storage, PS3 in a living room but I sold my 360 to a family member for a cheap price or I would still have that. I don't consider myself hardcore though, gaming is just one of my expensive hobbies, like golf, weed and a few others.

I beated New Order at uber, review all my games on a blog and read/post on forums. And I know all major tittle that is going to be released this end year and next year. To not count that I follow specialized website such as nofrag.com and I read the gs news.

Owning multiple systems does not make you a badass at video games lol. I thought this thread would be about being dedicated to a game. I'm going to pretend it is so I can puff my chest out and strut like a peacock.

If that is the case then I win that as well.

This is since 2009 when Steam started recording hours logged, I've been playing since 2000 just for perspective.

Due to academics, I identify myself as casual.

As for consoles, I have a gaming PC, a laptop, a Wii U, 3DS and Vita and absolutely no interest to get a PS4 or Bone. As for games, I might get around 8 per year or so. Instead preferring to pick games with high mastery potential, such as Dwarf Fortress.

I think we need to ask ourselves does hardcore refer to how many gaming items you own or how often you play? I've always thought it was the latter......

I've always thought of it as dedication to the hobby (so, the two things combined).

Then there is always the "I can play Ikaruga 2-player by myself" kind of hardcore gamer as well. i.e. absolute mastery of a single game.

if hardcore is requiring to own every single system. I guess im not hardcore. I'm too cheap to waste money on every system that is available. Plus i learned my lesson last gen, i bought a ps3 and xbox 360 and barely used my ps3. So if i was to do it again i would have only gotten 1 system. Luckily this gen of systems is garbage so im not even tempted to buy one
