There's a reason these features are optional,because they're not needed. You can try to spin things all you want but in order to play games on an Xbox 360 it will cost you $300-$500, in order to do it on the PS3 it will cost you $600.

You can send messages to people playing games and they will see them. But until its updated, you have to leave the game to read it. But things like this, I'm sure will be fixed over time.caseypayne69

You get what you pay for, and that counts with all things in this world. Sony does not have dedicated servers like the xbox live service, which is why companies are less willing to make games for the sony online service. Wait untill psn gets alot of users, you will see that you get what you pay for.

The main reason xbox live is so great is because of all the features and the fluiditity of how they all work together.

Sending messages (be it text and voice) is seamless and very fast,

organizing friends (up to 100) is easy and efficient,

the flow of downloadable content (media, entertainment) that comes through the marketplace is immense (everytime I go to it I see new content like demos and videos),

every single game (and I mean every single game) is xbox live supported meaning it has online multiplayer or downloadable content (mostly multiplayer..with exceptions like Oblivion),

there are constant updates for games and the 360 dashboard and overall system,

patches are made for problems in the game and handed out easily,

multiplayer varies from dedicated servers or player servers,

MSN messenger is great to use,

Voice chat with friends while playing different games at once,

Safe and Secure and Microsoft performs maintenance regurarly,

And basically: Great service overall with everything you need.

Yet you pay an extra $200 for a Bluray player. What he said makes perfect sense, you just aren't catching on. And, yes, Live does come with the console. You just have to input the information to get an account (which takes roughly 5 minutes). A Mic and everything comes with the console. Learn facts before you speak.

This is the reason Why we pay :

in 2 years , on PSN , There will be no more RFOM Online , no More MGS4 online , no more Warhawk (online game) ,no more KZ2 ( online ), no more Haze ( online ) , NO more Multiplats game online , no more anything that get released this year , or earlier , on PS3 .

In 2 years , on Xbox live , I will still be able to play Halo 2 , Conqer , Forza 1 ,Forza 2 , Halo 3 , Gears of war , Lost planet , Shadowrun ( The game got low rating , but it's awsome :P ) , every Single Multiplats/Exclusive games , since Xbox 1, will still be playable online .
