how long are you planning on paying for live?

im just curious because even if the next xbox comes out, wouldnt it use the same online system, so are they planning on sucking people into paying them for as long as gaming? and what happens when you want to play 360 games on a next console that might have BC or even on a 360? do you still have to keep paying? are they setting themselves up for a big fail or do they have anything planned? i would like to hear these plans any thoughts or ideas how they could solve this?

I will pay as long as it is a good value to me.

Now that I buy all my games in their superior and vastly awesomer PC versions I've considered discontinuing my Live subscription.

I mean, there are some good exclusives, but Gears of War was always a little too childish for me and Halo is just crap.

I really wish they would allow online multiplayer gaming in the free version of the Xbox Live service. But i'm not going to complain about it; As long as I continue to feel it's worth the price of admission, then I'll continue paying for it.

I disagree. Being a 6 year Xbox Live user all I can say is that I feel gyped paying to use a P2P network whose only features that would require any legitimate network structure are offered for free in the silver version.

Xbox Live is essentially paying 5$ a month to use the most limited and tightly censored online system ever concieved, that runs almost exclusively off of other gamer's systems or a third party's servers.

In other words, you're not actually getting anything when you pay that shouldn't be free... But M$ wants their money so they charge for it. Why? Because they can.

I disagree. Being a 6 year Xbox Live user all I can say is that I feel gyped paying to use a P2P network whose only features that would require any legitimate network structure are offered for free in the silver version.

lets see part of the beta 8 or so years ago, I'm still a member with my current gamertag at 4 years and a subscription till 2011....I intend on paying the money asked if i cant find deals *which i allways do* as long as the service is a value to me.

i havent payed for xbox live again yet, but i paid from 2002-2007smokedagoodyo

i was paying for live between 2005-2008 on regularxbox i was playing tons of nba2k5 and halo 2 when i jumped to the xbox360 i was playing tons of nba2k halo 3 and cod 4 but once i got tired of halo 3 i didnt see the point in having xbox live when the other games i play are multiplat

i havent looked back since i got rid of xbox live so am happy with my choice

dedicated servers? which xbox live can and does use, If you did any amount of research you'd know the majority of servers on psn dont use dedicated servers just as with xbox live. Better interface? >_< on a cold day in hell, xbox live and the xbox dashboard is 1000x better then psn could ever hope to be and thats a simple fact. And updates? lol the most recent 3.00 update add's pretty much nothing noteworthy.
