You get Facebook and twitter and get to pay for it....

We get the Internet You get to pay for demos.... We get them free the same day

You get DRM filled games..... We get games we can share up to 5 times

You get 16 player peer to peer online..... We get first party games with dedicated servers

You get MS trying to charge you for everything possible.... We get games that are built around user generated content

You get to pay for additional users... We get to share our PS3 with our friends and family for free

You get Avatars..... We get HOME

You get nothing... We get Remote play

And you don't even have any exclusive games so far for the year to play. So you've been paying for what??

Home sucks, why list that?:?

Live has been proven to have more features, and a more streamlined interface. PSN doesn't even have bloody universal integration. You're also completely ignorant of the fact MS also has dedicated servers. You're not exactly in a very knowledgeable position to say which one is better or not, clearly. Half your points also revolve around the fact LIVE is not free, which has nothing to do with the actual features offered.

And this user wins the thread.

1. we get face book and twitter, you get an gimped internet browser not even 20% of ps3 owners use.

2. We get demos, trials...etc you get occasional demos often long past when we do and every game on xbla has a trial, next to none on psn have trials.

3.you get a share up to 5 times that in reality is your own download limit if you give it out 5 times, and you accidentally delete a game, you CAN'T download it again unless you jump through many hoops with sony support to access the game again. *has done this when he shared one of his games with some of his friends and a few months later accidently deleted it and wasn't able to redownload it*

4.you get first party games that will shut down in a few years, we get games that on the original xbox still work, and if a game requires larger then 16 players on xbox live? it gets dedicated servers, don't act like there are no dedicated server xbox live games you make your self look foolish when you do.

5.you get games built around user generated content that sell poorly and all the user made content is mario level rip offs, and sony then charges all of developers which then pass the charge onto you in one way or another.

6.we get a comprehensive online account connected with most every thing, you get free accounts that do squat in terms of online presence and functionality.

7.we get avatars that are an integrated part of the service and often have free apparel, you get home a useless failure of a service that hasn't delivered on a single functionality that it was announced to have and is still i believe in beta after a year and its a completelty seperate application where as avatars as i said are completely intergrated now.

8. you get remote play that most people don't use is so laggy that its not worth the time, I've played the remote play games, i've played remote play with my psp and even if you have great online connectivity is still lags, you better not play a fast paced game on it or you'll die alot.

[QUOTE="Racer850"] Unlike you i have both systems and PSN is NOT better than Xbox live.Racer850

i have both systems and there is no difference with actual online gameplay

xbox live is better but only because of added content dlc and early demos which have nothing to do with online gameplay

oh and i tested multiplat games on both xbox live and psn and there is no difference with gameplay

Xbox live is far more user friendly with cross game chat and better interface/.

how does user frendly cross game chat help when am actually playing a game?

when i jump on ufc undesputed or street fighter 4 how will cross chat help me when i dont care to talk to a friend when in the middle of a game

Really name one first party game on LIVE that uses dedicated servers? Or are you going to be like a typical lemming and spout about the 3rd party game Frontlines you know that game that nobody plays and you could never get a full game even if you wanted to. Streamline interface? Really... that's a big deal. I personally have found the PS3 interface extremely easy to use.

Thank you for this information. I was trying to figure out how this made sense and now it does.

yeah basically what happens is when you buy a game you get a limited number of no questions asked redownloads, which you can download to any ps3 without being logged into your psn account. But these are a limited number and allso count as your redownloads if you change or dont back up your hard drive or if your ps3 fails...etc..etc On xbox live you have unlimited downloads of your software but its DRM meaning either the original download which license is connected to the original xbox its downloaded too, and then any other one you have to be logged onto access other accounts on the xbox can access said games but only as trials.

like i said xbox live is better when it comes to features

but at least in my case whats the point in paying for something i wont use

if was into ms exclusives i would pay for live but i can also tell u i wont buy any of the drm protected content or take advantage of its features all i would do is just jump into a game and play which is what i can do with psn

You have a lot of stuff in there that is flat out a lie.
Games have been shut down on LIVE already even though you pay for them. 5 times is better than 1 time so how is that good for 360. If I have multiple PS3s I can install it, you can't do that on 360. And where did you get 20% from for the internet browser?? I use mine every single day.

Yes, if I have a game I bought on PS3 in my family room and I have one for our Home Theater I can install it. Or a lot of people who I know share the cost of games with their brother and they usually have more than one PS3. It's not uncommon for family members or people with multiple PS3s to share games. I guess lemmings like buying their games multiple times, just like they like paying for LIVE

I wish I could afford too, but I do share games with my brother and he has his own.

And in all reality it's 360 owners going thru multiple units.

if i could afford it i would have a ps3 in every single room in the house, one in the kitchen, one in the basement, one in the living room, maybe not the dining room but all the bedrooms, and one in each car.

1.because every thing on your list was the gods truth right?

2.the games that do not work on xbox live any more used custom servers for stat tracking and lists this is why they do not work not because of xbox live shutting them down.

3.5 times is not better then 1 time, because its 5 times compared to UNLIMITED Times.

As for your front lines crack, come back when a game isn't old.

i'll pay for it as long as i'm interested in it, my question is how long do i have to listen to people that are on an allowance from their parents quetion how i decide to spend the money i earn?

I'll admit you are going to keep hearing from me on this topic :) It's one I'm really passionate about. I do applaud MS for really bringing online to consoles, they do deserve a lot of credit for that. But I hate Microsoft's initiative of making online pay to play. If LIVE succeeds you can bet you will be paying for Steam, PSN, Nintendo, Battle.net, etc.... And that is something I really don't want to see.

for as long as i have an xbox. i can easily find cards on the internet for $30. so a measily $2.30 a month for a 12+1 card is no problem for me.i get wayyyyyymore value for that $30 as i do most of my purchases.so it doesnt bother me.

i can see it being a concern for some but for real man i spend $8 a day feeding the dogs alone...i also have to pay the govt money for things i already own along with a dozen other rip-offs i put up with each day, for 90% of people the xbl fee is a joke

if i have a car and buying a sat radio subscription makes my car driving experince better who can tell me it's wrong?

xbl is the same thing

[QUOTE="OreoMilkshake"][QUOTE="sexxxyboy"] dude if your not gaming online your missing out big time. why dont you just save the 100 bucks and buy a nice slim or phat PS3.sexxxyboy
Because they cost more than 100 bucks.

not if you consider you have To also pay 50 bucks a year. 4 years max and thats all the gaming u get out of it. However, with a nice PS3, you choose when to play, when not to play.

OMG i just figured out theres something called paying monthly for xbl. You choose when to pay and play and when not to

[QUOTE="mitu123"][QUOTE="Verge_6"] Live has been proven to have more features, and a more streamlined interface. PSN doesn't even have bloody universal integration. You're also completely ignorant of the fact MS also has dedicated servers. You're not exactly in a very knowledgeable position to say which one is better or not, clearly. Half your points also revolve around the fact LIVE is not free, which has nothing to do with the actual features offered.EmperorSupreme

And this user wins the thread.

Does it matter if a game with dedicated servers is first party? Ill name 3 games. Frontlines:fuel of war, FF11, and The first party game.......1 vs 100

I'm not paying for it. I'll pay on 7/22/10, then not pay for 365 days.

Im sure many of us here that use live pay way under retail price for it. Amazon had a sale a few months back. 13 months for $30. Its worth it and its much better than PSN. I enjoy my PS3 but PSN does not compare. And Home is a joke.

im just curious because even if the next xbox comes out, wouldnt it use the same online system, so are they planning on sucking people into paying them for as long as gaming? and what happens when you want to play 360 games on a next console that might have BC or even on a 360? do you still have to keep paying? are they setting themselves up for a big fail or do they have anything planned? i would like to hear these plans any thoughts or ideas how they could solve this?

sexxxyboy

What if Sony has online charges for the PS4? Hell in their quest to be just like live feature for feature they will have to charge a price like live does to pay for the infrastucture this gen. It would be the only way.
