How long do you think this PC will last:

Upgrade what?

most of the time it's the cpu or gpu, I see it all the time hardware cycles are about 6 months and after 3 hardware cycles more people feel the need to upgrade eventhough it's not needed. Why do you think the 7k series sold so well, it wasn't needed, and was pretty much considered a terrible buy by logical hermit who knew dx10 was right around the corner.

The CPU is the least upgradable thing in a PC as a replacement besides the MoBo....because 99% of PC games are GPU reliant...

These people either have too much money or too few brain...(or even both lol)

Anyway the MoBo/CPU are things that are designed to last a long time with just more RAM and a GPU replaced mid term...

Also we shouldnt forget that:

PC medium Graphics>Console

PC maxed out>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Console

the core 2 duo is over 2x the power of x360's cpu maxed even with only 2 cores

I figured you'd be upgrading GPUs and eventually, as in 5-6 years, GPUs would start to require more power.

well the cpu and ram hardly ever have to be upgraded if you get fast cpu and lots of ram in the first place.  r6v only needs a 3ghz p4 and that came 4 years ago and its one of the most demanding games out there. stalker only needs a 2ghz p4 and thats like from 2000 7 years ago. I have yet to find one game that can use all of my 2gb ram so 3gb will be fine for a while now and ram is so easy and cheap to upgrade anyway

then that must mean I don't have enough ram or cpu power for game this year yet there is not one game that even comes close to maxing out my cpu, high demanding games now tend to use about 60% core 1 and 20% core 2 or 100% core 1 and 5% core 2, the fact is there is no game yet that really uses dual core cpus more than just doing a small overload to the second core.

That sounds about right, unless you want to be running games @ medium ~5 years from now. If you want to max games out, then it'll probably last you 4 years at the top end.

i havent seen a game that requires more than a c2d6300 to max out...
