Just a little over 2 years for me. Couldn't be more satisfied with my investment ?
Actually before many of the consoles I had, before my Super Nintendo I did have a Commodore 64. Though I wasn't as invested into gaming as I am now, or had been for the past 20 years that I considered myself an enthusiast. My more recent acquisition is my first custom built rig, fully geared for gaming and productivity.
I grew up on PC gaming, 80's - 90's I guess.....started out with the Flight Sim games, then went on to the King's Quest and Leisure Suit Larry games , then onto Dune 2, DOOM 1-2, C&C and RedAlert, Warcraft, Starcraft 1-2, Diablo 1-2, Halo CE, those were mostly the games I played.... Diablo 2 is my favorite PC game of all time.
I think around the time of the PS1/N64 days I started gravitating more towards gaming on console only, for various reasons.
Bought my first PC back in 1997. Paid £1400 for it. Pentium 200mhz, 16mb ram, 10gb HDD, some 3dfx card and a 15" CRT. Was awesome! Could max everything at 800x600 lol.
In the years before that I had a ZX Spectrum, NES, SNES, Amiga 500, PS1 & N64. Since 1997 I've had a PS2, 360, and a PS4. But PC has always been my preferred platform.
That's a long time ago, probably more than 20 years. I did play a lot of crap as a kid, but the first game I remember playing a lot was Command and Conquer: Red Alert. I did play it before the original.
