This is only my humble opinion but I loved R1 and R2 and I found R3 to be absolutely terrible. One of the worst purchases I've made in awhile

Well from what I've played:

Resistance 1 is just plain horrible. It's probably because it hasn't aged well, as I had played it just last year. The only one worth playing is R3, but even then it's not too special. It has a kinda cool setting to it, a lot more sober than most sci-fi games (a misty traversal through a 60's style American football stadium for example) but ultimatly there are better games out there for campaign.

It's not bad as a rental though.

Eh, I do find it's quite a chore to play if not for the amazing production values and detail in the enviroments and kinetic violence of everything. The AI is also pretty decent, but it never really lets you play around with it which is a shame. The online is actually quite good, I would not say average at all. The maps are fantastic, it's got good gunplay, gameplay and not too much focus on unlocks

Bad Company 2 is the best multiplayer shooter to come out on consoles this gen, in my opinion. As for how many people are playing it, I'm not sure though.

Can't speak for Resistance 3, but Killzone 3's community did die off. I got on a couple months ago and could barely get in a game with more than 3 people. I'm sure that the 'going free will a certain level' thing will boost the numbers a bit, but I doubt that will last too long. Sad because it is a great game for consoles.

And yes, getting a nuke did get old. That game just became a hot mess of unbalanced perks and who can camp the most to get their kill-streaks fastest.

Since Killzone 3's MP is now free that community should be growing quite a bit.

When I had a PS3 this is what I played:

MAG- I loved that freaking game and I bet it still has a good following.

Killzone 2- Dd not like the single player but the multiplayer is great (funny enough Killzone 3's single player is good but the multiplayer sucks.

SOCOM 4- It was different than the other Socoms so it might be dead online.

Warhawk- Game is great.

That is the only games I played online on the PS3 that I enjoyed other than Battlefield.
