There are alot of manti-cores these days and alot of fanboys.
How many games you usually buy for a console or handheld for that matter?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Shrug. How can I tell how many I will buy until I buy them?
I've bought like 6 for the DS and Wii or something? But I haven't even bought the PS3 or 360 yet...
This question needs to be asked in 4 years. Unless you mean for last gen? Doesn't it depend on games and all sorts of factors?
Highly variable.
I had about 6 for SNES. 10 for PS. 20 for PS2. Estimating about 8-12 that I will be getting for the Wii over the next year. And just for the sake of mentioning it... I have about 80 for PC (not that it counts or anything). As for DS I have 3 ATM and will be going and getting 2 oe 3 GBA games and another 2 or 3 DS games within the next couple weeks.
I am not one of those rich gamers. Up until recently I have played the hell out of every game that I owned.foxhound_fox
Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean, lol.

I pretty much buy anything that is relevant to my interests, which is pretty much everything except sports games. Depending on release schedules i usualy average between 2-5 game purchases a month.

any gen really
I bought 137 games altogether maybe more but I can't remember there names I was really young then. Going from most games to least games I have is
any gen really MajattI haven't been a diligent collector in my days, but let's see.
Probably around 6-10 on average. I have probably purchased almost as many computer games a generation as for consoles.
And, I was too busy with college almost all of last gen. to buy many games.
Now that I have a full time job, I seem to be buying MANY more games.
Edit:Â That's per console, not per generation.

Mostly Disposable income. ive only beat maybe 1/3 of all thsoe. but i just buy them so that when i do have time in the fututre, they will be there and i wont have to pay an arm and a leg for them on ebay or somewhere.
I very rarely buy games. Unless it's something that a really really like.
Â
I rent them via Gamefly.Â
8 games for the Nintendo DS
12 games for the Nintendo Gamecube
?? games for the PS2 (I traded in games so I don't know anymore)
The most interesting system is the Xbox 360 - I don't own one yet, but I'm stock piling games that I get good deals on for when I do - I already have GeoW, GRAW, and PGR3.
Â
The best two systems for building a library on right now are the PS2 and the Xbox 360. On both systems there are a ton of awesome games that can be had for $20 brand new off Amazon or Ebay. There's so much game pressure on both systems that all the games drop down to around $20 after six to eight months.
I'll probably be picking up Phantasy Star Universe for the 360 pretty soon, making it my fourth game for a system I don't own.

I've got around 40 PS1 games and 40 PS2 games. So far I've got 8 games for my 360 and I've had it for 8 months and I've got 8 PC games, most of which I can't really play at the moment (I need a new Graphics card).Â

Any pre-GCN/PS2 numbers are too low since I couldn't remember them all when I registered on GS.
GB - 3Â
GBC - 9
GBA - 20
DS - 11
N64 - 27
GC - 40
Wii - 6
PC - 18
PS - 12
PS2 - 30
PS3 - 5
Xbox - 3 (I don't own the original Xbox)
Xbox 360 - 16
I can honestly say I don't buy as many games now as I did when I was younger (and single). I can't post exact numbers but when things were better financialy I was able to buy an average of 4-5 per month. That was during the genesis and snes days. The newer consoles came out and it began to slow to about 2-3 a month (PS, Sat, N64). Now that I am married and have kids I can barely scrape enough free $$ to get 1 a month.
The average amount of total games per console I own is around 30. A small amount when you consider I have almost all the consoles but I did say average. If I tried to break it down by system I have more genesis games than I do snes but my minimum amount of games per console is 20. I know there are SO many more that I WANT but funds get tight as the kids get older and eat more.
