This.
It's pretty hard to notice something is king, if it's standing in the shadow of a better king. Plus, that's not a king, that's like a Queen, Jack, or something ...
If it doesn't get any good looking games soon well a missed opportunity Nintendo. As in releasing a console and games which couldn't best 2005/6 hardware.
Weaker than a can of Fosters.
campzor
What's even so special about the graphics?
if you are referring to project x, imo its the fact that it looks THAT good WHILST being OPEN WORLDIt looks amazing. I never understood what people saw in Halo 4. gears of War 3 is still 360's king, but X looks a lot better than that.
probably one.
I think they will have some very interesting and well conceived art styles, as they always do. And currently they do have more power than a 360/ps3.
But from a raw power standpoint I predict that Sony and MS will have them beat by a large margin.
0-3. Pikmin better have improved quite a bit, and depending on whether or not Retro and EAD's next games come out this year.
As far as that new Xenoblade game goes, i'm very disappointed so far. Design wise, it's trying way too hard to look like the typical next gen game - lots of grays, color grading, typical looking final fantasy characters and monsters, it just doesn't look good coming from Xenoblade on the Wii. It better be in the very early stages.

Yeah, I'd prefer them to capture that fantastic color palette xenoblade had, That game is just so damn good everything looks more and more alien the further you get.

Exactly. I really am hoping the footage for X was just a demo of sorts.

To be fair it probably took place in the first area of the game, which in xenoblade was damn boring as well compared to the rest.

Good point. They'd still need to do something about the color grading though.

What do you think about the Last story? I haven't played that one yet.

Yeah I haven't either, it does look interesting . The combat looks very dynamic and fun. I'm surprised how many damn good RPGS are on the Wii, ps3 and 360 really got screwed most of this generation in that regard. Although Ni No Kuni just looks amazingly good.lol who cares about graphics cause i know already its going to have the best first party and third party exclusive line up , and thats more then enough ,your speaking to some one who actually owns every system bar a sega master system, and i always seem to find more good games on nintendos/microsofts platforms , then sony,or sega or even atari
maybe its the fourplayer support , that sony lacked since ps1 is what kept me away, and since then they have not improved their line up
every game they release is just another rip off of another good title
Absolutely none, im sorry as much as I love Nintendo, they've completley missed the mark and have not understood the market they were in, the real fact is the Wii U is no where near as unique as the Wii,
There market ended up being non gamers and families who wanted something as a party games and the Wii suited that and was entertaining what they have missed is the fact these sort of customers aren't going to buy something new what does the same things so the only actual buyers are going to be the true Nintendo fanboys who love it for its exclusives,
The games what are going to sell the Wii U aren't even coming out till end of the year, and this will be over shadowed by ms and sony.
I mean seriously how many times can you bring out a 2d Mario game every single console
Considering the graphics card is only slightly better than the PS3 and 360's, and the fact that Nintendo messed up and chose a slow ass processor, I'm going out on a limb here to say 0.
It only has about a year, maybe a year and a half, for any chance at having a graphics king. After that, when the PS4 and 720 come out, it won't stand a chance, especially when the second gen PS4 dev kits were said to have a Radeon 7000 HD card and 8GB of RAM.
Maybe 1 but it'll last about as long as I would with Kate Beckinsale in bed.
The only chance is if they release something visually spectacular prior to PS4/720
Xenoblade (or whatever) looks very impressive.. compared to 7-8 yr old hardware. If the specs of the durango/orbis are to be believed Sony/M$'s new boxes will be able to push out much more power than what we've seen thus far with consoles.
OhSnapitz
You act like that's a maybe. I'd like to see how they wouldn't push out more power than what we've seen thus far with consoles. Have you seen Unreal Engine 4? Puts many of our recent releases to shame.
10 all back to back in one month.
In December 2015 comes a twist that nobody expects. Nintendo does the impossible and unlocks the power of the Cell... with a f*cking boss key. 4D, 4K graphics start rendering on WiiU's globally at an alarming 480 frames per second. Too much to be contained, the spirit of Krazy Ken spills into the land while Innocent bystanders race for the ridges. Those who survive this onslaught of ultra high fidelity Nintendo titles have to work two jobs just to cope with the madness. But no matter how many jobs they work, nothing can hold off the full realization of the giant enemy crab.
But after that Sony and MS copy Nintendo and even out the playing field the end.

Well check it out - all of what he said is based on actual ancient Japanese history.

Damn straight it is, I read it in a book! With pictures even.
Snes, n64, and GameCube all had the best looking games at one point.CranlerWiiu wont. What Gamecube games? I remember xbox owning that gen when it came to graphics. GC and Xbox were pretty close, the PS2 was the weak one that generation.

Prime series as well as F-Zero GX as well.
Xbox did have the lions share though but the GCN definitely did have some as well.
