I bought one and it's collecting dust
not me as my last(also my first) Nintendo console was the gamecube. So I would like to see wii/ wii u ports for the console.
I'm almost reluctant to answer because it is clear what the true agenda behind this post is, but yes, I also own a Wii U. I also know multiple people that have bought or intend to buy a Switch that never had any interest at all in the Wii U. This console appeals to a wider audience than just Nintendo's core loyal hardcore fans.
Eventually you are going to have to accept that the Switch is not the flop that you were hoping that it would be. Sorry, but you are not going to get to play Nintendo games on your Playstation anytime soon.
What is the agenda? I am literally asking how many people in this thread that own a Switch also own/owned a Wii U as well. Its a pretty simple question.
This has nothing to do with whether Switch will flop, not even I said it would, at least not at the level as the Wii U. I've said countless times that I can easily see it sell 30 - 35 million units lifetime, so no I have no agenda.
Why do you care then ?
I actually bought a wii u after i got the switch. I needed to play some smash, zelda wind waker hd, donkey kong, and those mario games i missed out on. Good stuff and the games are cheap right now.
Bought a WiiU after it launched in few months. Played all the major games on it and I had a blast actually and didn't regret buying it like any other Nintendo system.
When Switch came out I sold my WiiU and bought a Switch. So far I'm still playing Zelda but I'm planning to buy other games in the holidays.
Ha. "Gathering data" riiiight...
Your not so subtle jabs at Nintendo arent fooling anyone man. We get it...you dont like them. Great ?
I don't have a Wii U, but I do have a Switch.
I was wanting a Wii U because I thought the thing would dreamcast and go down to like $100. But that never happened.
Make sure you ask people outside a gaming website for your data, because we are all enthusiasts and will most likely own both.
Just gathering data to see if the Switch is selling mostly to Wii U owners, or if its actually bringing in a large group of people who never owned a Wii U as well. Thanks
Gathering data from system wars...okay lol

Sounds like you're trying to validate your suspicion that the Switch is only selling to Wii U owners which will make your results questionable as they will be tainted with confirmation bias.
Not I, the last time I owned a Nintendo console was the N64 which I got it because of Zelda and I bought the switch this time for zelda and mario and the other indie games for the switch.
The plan back in 2012 was to skip the Wii U and buy the next system and expect backwards compatibility with Wii U.
That didn't happen.
I would've bought a Switch by now if it was able to play wii u games. Since it doesn't, I didn't feel the Wii U nor the Switch is strong enough to have either individually. I could've had access to games from different Nintendo consoles, but instead I have neither.
Never owned a nintendo console before the switch! Iv always owned all xboxs and all playstations expcept for ps2. Its the first time nintendo has made something that appeals to me iv never been that big into mario or zelda but the fact i can play that sorta stuff on the go has made me give the switch a chance and no regrets i absoulty love the console! Only thing that sucks is the ammount of games out on it but they seem to be coming out pretty quickly towards the end of the year.
I got 2
One US and another JP
Aren't you glad you only have to buy 1 Switchy now..OR did you get 2 also.. xP :)
I got a WiiU for Christmas the year it launched, but only kept it for 2 years. I had Nintendoland, New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, and a handful of third party games. I gave it to my nephew for Christmas 2 years after I opened it for Christmas :P
