[QUOTE="NobuoMusicMaker"]You know, games like Crysis and Supreme Commander were made for PCs that don't even exist on retail. They are scaled so far in the future that even a dual 8800 ultra SLi with quad core conroe won't run it at max.jt8b2z
i play supreme commander maxed and plays smooth enough, ofcourse there is some slowdown in big 1000's of unit matches but its a strategy game so it doest matter too much. Plus crysis has been shown running maxed at above 720p on a single 8800gtx...Ofcourse there will be new graphical feature asses on as cards get better like their was with far cry (i.e. shader model 3.0/hdr e.t.c.)
That's funny, my 3000 dollar rig with 8800 Ultra SLi had quite a massive slow downs 15 minutes into a Supreme Commander game. Drops to an unplayable 10 FPS. It's steep hardware requirements is what made it score low. And Crysis isn't even out for people to do benchmarks on.

Yeah, well you're probably one of the 1/3 on that poll that's lying. You have a 30inch running at max res, max performance, at 60fps with lossless Dolby Digital audio?NobuoMusicMakerYou don't need 60 fps in a game like Supcom.

NobuoMusicMaker
That's not funny, in my opinion. There are a couple of things you can do...first and foremost, patch up to the most recent, because the devs have put in some performance fixes. Also, if you are running on a multicore system, try getting the program in the first post in this thread on the SupCom forums. It helps "push" the programs threads, an optimization the devs should have made a while ago. It works for me, and it does help with the backend's performance.
And, I know this isn't a SupCom or support forum, but I'm feeling for my fellow gamer...

That's a lie, and you know it. Or you have drivers from 4 years ago. My 7800GT, E6400, and 2GB of RAM run SupCom perfectly fine in 4v4 matches on Setons's Clutch, even towardst he end when there's thousands of units on screen. Of course, this is all on medium, some high settings, but your PC destroys mine.

Yeah seriously full of crap if you ask me.[QUOTE="lespaul1919"]i have a 7900GT KO.....but yeah, i need to upgrade prolly.smokeydabear076You need quad SLI 8800 GTXs to run games these days, your right you will have to upgrade. Even then, they would get outdated in a matter of months.

You don't need 60 fps in a game like Supcom.smokeydabear076
Then you're not running it at max performance.
Yeah I can.

Lol so zero framerate dropped at 2560x1600, max settings, full water and physics effects. Somehow I doubt it.
Everyone's failing to read the topic. It's not if you can run the game, it's if you can run it at its very best with the best performance. If you can't even host the highest res and run it at 60 FPS with all the settings maxed and you voted you can, then you're not reading it right.

2560x1600 is not even close to the highest resolution you can acheive so technically you are not running it at the very best. smokeydabear076
And unless you have a freakin' massive screen capable of that resolution, there's no point in having it.
I'm guessing a screen of reasonable size for that resolution (including having that resolution) costs almost as much as a PC itself?

When I think of max I think of what I run games at, not you. Yeah my mistake, I was thinking of a surround setup, but I think 2560x1600 is still bigger.[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"][QUOTE="rpg9000owner"]You need quad SLI 8800 GTXs to run games these days, your right you will have to upgrade. Yes, my rig can run nearly all games at full res, the only reason it could not, is the fault of the game, not my rig.
Is this thread supposed to be aimed at proving a point that consoles are more cost effective than PC's?, because you do know console games, even running on a 360 or PS3 are pretty much running at medium setting's, proof?, Compaire Oblivion on PC too Oblivion on 360, and the great thing about it, we can prove using Oblivion in particular, is that you can make the PC version absolutly demolish the 360 or PS3 version, I would say, Oblivion running with it's preformance tweaks, and the Gamespot "Make it pretty pack" looks and run's about 5 to 10 times better on PC than it's console counterparts.
It could just be the fact that the PC beats both consoles in hardware, though.Yes, my rig can run nearly all games at full res, the only reason it could not, is the fault of the game, not my rig.

They spent way to much time on the DX8 render, and botched the DX9 one...... Not to mention the dynamic lighting is quite unoptimised thanks to the mega rush in releasing it earlier in the year.In most cases, I can.
With poorly coded games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I can't.

They effectiley re-did the game after 04 beleive it or not...

Ugh...and I fell for it and responded to this troll.
You have no such computer. You own a 1.8 ghz P3 that you're posting from now. Your mom won't upgrade you, so you're bitter, and post tripe like this to annoy computer gamers. The poll says "max or high". You do know how to read, correct?
In short, disconnect your PSU and plug it in while taking a bath with it. Good day, sir.

lol you certainly can with that pc :P
im actually thinking about getting 2x8800gtx just for the fun of it, even though i have no need for it at 1680x1050.

You said nothing about resolution in your first post. My monitor only goes up to 1280x1024 so I have no idea if I can. I'm, leaning towards yes though.

Are you running it on Vista? I was and it ran terribly for what hardware I had. I'm running it on XP now and its run perfectly fine maxxed out at 1280*1024. Nvidia really needs to learn how to make decent drivers for Vista. A patch is supposed to come out soon that has a lot of optimizations in it, especially for dual core CPU users.
STALKER:Clear Sky isn't an expansion, it's a prequal. There supposedly making the story much more clear and easier to follow now. There also working with DX10 to make it look a lot better. GS did a preview on it yesterday I believe.
