How many people here started gameing last gen.

I started early N64/Playstation era. But my home also had a super nintendo so that is my oldest console.

A post in an earlier thread, had me wondering how new to gaming some posters are here.

I started gaming in the Sega Genesis era. I started following and researching games last gen. mrmusicman247

Similar, I missed out on quite a few games like MML because of lack of game knowlege. I managed to get all the N64 essentials though.

Late NES era.

I started gamign back in 86 or 87 :)

Since Atari-NES-Sega Master System days.

I started playing in '93 (4 years old at the time) with the NES and soon after had a Genesis and a SNES

I started gaming when I was around 3-4 years old. NES was my first system.

I've been gaming since Genesis time

My first console was the Sega Megadrive, also had a SNES up my dads house :) It's still there, from time to time we still play mario kart and bomberman :)

I started with the Gamecube, but to be fair I should have started with the N64/PS1. My mom was a bit scrict back then.:P

I started gaming seriously in the mid-late N64/PS1 era, but I had been casually gaming on a Genesis for a couple of years before that.

It's mostly people who did not start soon that will respond :)

Anyway, I started in the 8 bit era (on an Apple II derivative)

I started gaming when I was a little kid in the ps1 era. Probably when I was 5 or 6 or so. I would be interesting to know what people's lives were like before gaming. (to the older ones). Gaming has always been part of my life.

Not suprised to see alot of people here haven't been gaming that long, it's probably the reason why standards for gaming is so low yet accepted and actually praised by most.

Older games, considering the time of release and technology that was avalible, actually had alot more substance than games being released now.

started with the nes around 1992 when i was 5

im 19, grew up during PS1/N64 era, but had an NES in the house, which was the first platform I started gaming on. I guess you could say the first REAL platform that was actually MINE was the PSone.

Been gaming for about 25 years now.. Adventure on the Atari is still one of my favorites to this day. The game Journey is one of the big reasons I am a fan of the band today. dotWithShoes

Adventure was great. Did you ever find that little "credits dot" that the development crew threw in there?

In terms of console gaming, I only started this generation with a PS3. But, if you count the fact that I have been playing PC games since the year 2000 and handheld games since 1998, then I started right where the fifth generation was dying off and the sixth generation was beginning.

Intellivision was my first console, but I didn't get hardcore into gaming until gen 5.

Intellivision was the first console that I bought with my own money...I've been gaming since the 2600 and the old school arcades.

I have been here since intellevision.

Started gaming in the early 1970s, on the first Pong arcade.

I started on a ZX Spectrum 128k back in 1986.

Been gaming since the Master System. Only had a few games for it though. Mega Drive was the first one where I really got in to gaming I guess. I think the only games I had on the Master System were Alex Kidd, Teddy Boy, Quartet, Sonic 1 and 2, Astro Warrior, Choplifter and Tennis. Wow now that I think about it that's more games than I thought I had. Fond memories of the Master System. Good times.

I had all the Nintendo systems as a kid, but I didn't really start gaming till the PS2 and Gamecube days.

1994 or so I think. Been gaming since before I was in school. I'm sure that's healthy.
