Except that the reviewer didn't understand the game he was playing, or the characters in it. He openly admits to it during a podcast the week following the review.

The reviewer detracted points from the game based on how he felt about the MainCharacter "Joel"... In the beginning of his review he points out that Joel is not a nice person and difficult to connect to as a result. What brought him to the conclusion that the Main Character was not a good person, you ask???? Because HE WAS WORKING UNTIL NEARLY MIDNIGHT!!!?????

The other 2 guys on the podcast with him, even go against him in his understanding of the characters... but they shy away a bit, so as to not condemn a review from the site they receive their own paycheck from, which is smart.

I like the game, thats all I care about.

I can actually agree with his 7.5 score he gave Skyward Sword, though perhaps not for the same reasons he gave the game that score. I never read is review so I'm not sure what he liked or criticized. for some of the thing that hurt my overall experience in SS, the world didn't have as much to explore and felt much more empty, and I think Skyward Sword had some of the worst backtracking in the Zelda series, perhaps THEE worst in the series. That, and the motion controls had its issues. While I actually liked the motion controls for the combat, I thought some of the motion control implementation for other aspects of the game didn't turn out so well.

i seriously believe he hates anything popular so the more the hype the more he underscores games, may be because hes just a troll hating on popular things, or maybe because hes a troll that likes to anger people, either way a troll, i dont even understand how a guy like that is a reviewer, he doesnt even understand what hes playing since in every podcast after a game he underscores he says some incredibly dumb things (like saying joel maybe into drugs business for comming home late from work, or not being able to understand the wii mote move in skyward sword) but then again gamespot stop being a seriouss gaming site a long time ago.
