A machine that sends images, sound and other senses directly into the brain allowing for complete virtual reality.
And ending Earth as we know it because nobody will leave their machines.
Graphics are cool, but it's all about AI now. With mutli-core processors (Like Intel's Core 2 Duo, and the 360's multicore cpu), developers can write very complex AI and have one of the multiple CPU's do most the work. Give me an enemy who thinks, and you have a game I want to enjoy.musicalmacwell i wouldn't say ALL about AI cause for multiplayer games we now have online play to eliminate the need for AI
i dunno what you mean by that because video games already do that - when things happen in the game such as a chainsaw revving behind you in Gears of War, it gives you a sense of danger and sends a message to your brain to run away and quickly turn around and shoot at the chainsaw enemy before you dieA machine that sends images, sound and other senses directly into the brain allowing for complete virtual reality.

I think video games could get better, but I don't really see the need. With the 16 bit gen, obviously we needed 3d textures, with the ps1/n64 gen the graphics were muddy and blocky (generally), but with the GC/XBox/PS2 gen I think it got to the point i didn't think we needed much more. I think the next gen might be a ceiling in terms of graphical advancements, audio has been fine since the introduction of 5.1, and AI is one of those things 75% of people don't notice and don't care about, so it is gonna be on the developers to continue giving us fresh ideas.
I guess I'm behind the times on this one, but I don't notice or care about the quality increase from Dvd to HDDVD/Bluray, and I'm afraid soon enough the advancements in game systems is gonna be roughly the same. Either that, or we'll be spending 900 dollars on a system, bleh.

yep. full motion sensing with fully realistic graphics and interactivity with all objects.
That would be the perfect video game. Well it would if it's done right.
