But its pretty much agreed that the 360 version has better controls and surprisngly, better Online.

My, oh my, you really are in denial, aren't you......
I thoguht the reviewers were too untill I tried both versions out for myself. But why am I surprised? Tactical shooters being superior on the Xbox360 has been a trend since it launched.
1. CoD4 is not a tactical shooter.
2. Gears of War, a tactical shooter, has been stated in the GS review of the PC version to be "is everything the 360 version was and more.".
You still issue commands and such but whatever, its not a basic shooter like Doom or Hl2, the point still stands.
You don't issue commands.
[QUOTE="GodLovesDead"][QUOTE="catlin_czirr"][QUOTE="GodLovesDead"][QUOTE="catlin_czirr"]Actually PC version has 50! players online vs the 16 on 360. :)catlin_czirr
That's cool and all but that's way too many. If you've played Call of Duty 4, you'll know that the maps are tiny. Very tiny. 16 players is too chaotic to be fun, let alone 50. Even on 8 player FFA matches, I get spawnkilled on numerous occasions.
Hey don't knock it till you have tried it, 50 players+mod support+dedicated servers+FREE online play+better graphics+most precise controls = Best version.
I have tried it. I've tried it on the 360, PS3, and PC. More precise controls isn't a valid point because that doesn't make the game better. The controller is accurate enough and has force feedback which actually adds a lot to the game. The graphics definitely are better on the PC, but Call of Duty 4, like Saving Private Ryan, should only be played/watched on a big screen. The differences aren't significant and I like how Call of Duty is locked at 60 fps. It's pretty optimized on the PC, but the FPS is variable so they is hitches.
If you don't have a decent setup for your 360, then the PC version is great. But the gameplay is very "consolized" and arcade-like. It better suits the 360 and better suits larger TVs. There are much better games to spend your money on if you want a PC game. I recommend Stalker or The Witcher.
Pretty much ANY newer video card will allow you too hook up to an HDTV, so playing on a "big screen" works either way.Yes, and I'm sure loads of people are willing to go through the hassle of connecting their PC to their HDTV just to play it on a diminished resolution. Most people I know don't even have a HDTV and PC in the same room, and the few I do wouldn't ever move their TV from its spot for anything, let alone move it to a convenient PC gaming spot.
Actually it is very simple to do, you connect the same amount of cables as you would for your 360 power, and video. I have a wireless mouse+keyboard, and I can connect via digital optical to my surround sound, so it's pretty much just like hooking up my 360 to my HDTV, but my whole point was, you were using "playing on a big screen" as a negative point against the PC version, when in fact you can very much hook a PC up to an HDTV and play games at 720p/1080pA 360 is very portable. I'd hardly call my PC portable, and once again, I don't think me or anyone else would move their PC around just to play CoD4. You can hook a PC up to an HDTV, but HDTVs aren't capable of interpretting VGA resolutions as well as other forms of media, and you may not be able to get 1080p. My point is that it's not convenient enough to be done on a casual scale. Technically, you can pretty much do anything on the PC. But that's the difference between consoles and PCs. Console have limited functionality, but they are instant. PC's have endless functionality, but require time (sometimes a little bit, sometimes a lot).
I'd also like to add the PC is missing prestige mode if I didn't already say so.
Who still uses VGA, have you heard of DVI? Also some people don't even need to move their PC's around, ever heard of a media center PC? PC wins in every aspect from controls to graphics, get over it! CoD4 on 360 is great! Just not as good as on PC.Obviously it was just an example. Personally my TV doesn't receive DVI signals so I just went with that. Technically, Call of Duty 4 has more PC related features. But they don't matter because they are absolutely insignificant to playing on a bigscreen HDTV with things such as achievements and Prestige mode. Media Center PC doesn't allow you to play videogames. It just lets you stream pictures, videos, and music from your PC - which isn't relevant.
I was using the media center PC as an example of how easy it is to integrade your PC into your setup, and there is a cable called HDMI to DVI just for you :)
