why have Lems been in full DC for the past few months (infact, all of 2011)?

If I had to estimate, probably a week longer at the most.

Why care how long it's down for anyway? It's a crap service to begin with, buy a 360, jump on XBL and you will never feel the need tolook back imho.

I think Gamespot should do a GINORMOUS poll with times down to the minute and if you can guess the exact year, month, day, hour and minute that PSN goes back up, you get $5,000 US. In the case of a tie the pot gets split. The polls close as soon as there is an official announcement from Sony of an ETA and then any and all votes are locked in. Only members of the site may join. New members are welcome but not from the same IP address as another member. 10% of the ad revenue for the voting page will go to the Japanese earthquake relief efforts through the Red Cross. On the result of a no winner the prize also goes to the Japanese Earthquake relief efforts through the Red Cross.

Also all Sony employees are obviously ineligible, which would include more than half of System Wars.

How can you turn this down Gamespot? How could you turn this down!? Are you inhumane or something!??? Oh yeah and BTW when you do this I'm taking a 90% cut because it was my idea.....:D
