I bought a years subscription for £40 ($80). I refuse to buy points, only to have some left over and spending them on a gamerpic. It's a complete joke.SolidSnake35
I just hoard leftover points and eventually they add up to another XBLA game... not a big deal for me, ends up being chump change in the end. I really like XBLA, so I love spending points there.

In actuality, most downloads are roughly in the 400 points group (400, 800, etc.). Generally there is a few things I seen that were 500, but roughly mostly everything is 400, 800, or a multiplication of that. even Shiverling Isles will leave you balanced out.

Yeah, then there's the fact that you can get points either in increments of 500 (online through credit/debit) or you can get 1600/4000 from a store. So you can strike a pretty good balance if you want.
Granted, I do think the point system is a bit lame, but it doesn't bother me very much since I end up spending all but a few of them on things I would already want anyway.
I've spent £8.50 on gamerpoints to buy Streets of rage 2 and Sonic the hedgehog 2, but nothing on xbox live. I just used my 1 month xbox live card i got from MS when i sent it in for repairs and then i used another 1 month card when i sent it in again, though they just ran out and i do miss my halo 3 online :(SSJ_Nega
STREETS OF RAGE IS ON THE ARCADE!? :o
*signs life away*
