Couple of things:
- The momory usage you see on overlay monitors like EVGA precision aren't very accurate. They only report the VRam that has been allocated, nto what's actually being used by the game.
- Windows is NOT a memory hog. It uses smart prefetching technology to pre-load blocks of data/executable code that is likely to be called upon in thew near future. This is afeature that enhance performance more often than not.
