I think the current price is a happy medium. It's not too expensive, but it's not too cheap either. It's affordable, and a good asking price compared to the competition. They also make a decent profit off of every unit they sell, so that's only more sunshine in Nintendo's boat.
I think they'll cut the price to $200 eventually, but not anytime soon. Maybe in a year or two. They certainly don't have any pressure to from Sony or Microsoft.
[QUOTE="ChiChiMonKilla"]The wii should be $200 tops if not $150 because just a supped up game cube with a new controller.TylendalThe competition is just a souped up X-Box with the same controller, and a souped up PS2 with a gimmicky controller lacking rumble. I don't get your point.
The 360 and ps3 are true next gen consoles with a fantastic leap in hardware meanwhile the wii is at most 2x the power of the gamecube. The wii does not add enough imo to justify even being called a next gen console. Even the wii games look worse than the gc games from last gen. Â

Yay for inflation. 249 (today) is less then 199 (198ish)Â
[QUOTE="HeedleGlavin"]According to multiple sources months ago, it costs more than $150 to manufacture a Wii.the-very-best
Yeah, I don't understand your point though. Are you saying the price is OK because it costs a lot to make the Wii?
Are you saying they should loose money on every console made? Which would mean all the millions they sold would mean nothing in terms of profit under your $150 ideaÂ
[QUOTE="Silvereign"][QUOTE="Tylendal"][QUOTE="-supercharged-"][QUOTE="Silvereign"][QUOTE="ShakeNBake1491"][QUOTE="Silvereign"]The GC started at $200. The Wii is only $50 more and comes with a packed in game. Seems fair to me.[QUOTE="Tylendal"][QUOTE="Ibacai"]I'd say $175 is right in my opinion. They are gouging the consumers at the moment.Tylendal

a game that sucks?
No, Wii SportsÂ
Wii sports ...suck...
Wii Sports is fun...
It's obvious that this guy has never played Wii sports. It's like Nintendo says, "Playing is Believing". I have yet to see anyone play the Wii and say "I'm bored" or "It's not fun" I haven't even seen "It's fun, but...". The fact remains, that the majority of people love the Wii and Wii sports.Â
Your right I didn't but my friend is going to purchase the Wii. We where argueing on who has to get it. I played Zelda in the store and omg it sucks.
You don't get out much do you. It was in Gamestop. The hack and slash was boring. Not to mention the controls were weird especially using your bow and arrow. Fishing was completely dumb and dreadfully boring. In the end we were all pretty much begging to turn the PS3 on but Gamestop wouldn't let us. What kind of BS is that.
