When I was younger I'd play the same games over and over again now I play a game once and more on, unless I really love the game and its short I might give it another go a few months later, thats why I love 8-10hrs games
But recently I've been going from on big huge game to the next
I'm still playing Xenoblade X, I started it in January and its still giving me more stuff to do, I might have to pack it in, my backlog is getting to big
Hardly ever for me. Unless its a remake, i usually wont go back much. Im too addicted to playing something new. rather it be an old new game or a modern new game.
Words from Mesome that I 100% agree with.....
If we humans had infinite time on earth and we were immortal then yea I 'd probably replay more games but as is why spend time replaying something when there are literally like some 30 games that I own and haven't even gotten started on. It's not like I'm getting any younger as time goes on.
Conversely when I was younger I would replay games a lot due to
1. Not having many games and relying on my parents to buy them for me
2. having a whole lot more energy and time due to not working etc
With all that said though, I have nothing against people that spend time replaying games for whatever reason they have... could be nostalgia purposes or something else but it's just not for me.
I might also add though that what I have been doing recently when I don't feel like I have energy to play a game is I would go on youtube and find play throughs of games I have played in the past and watch them on my tv screen through chromecast so that way I get to relive it but don't necessarily have to put in the energy. Often times I'm also multitasking and doing other things while watching which I can't do if I'm the one playing.
Totaly depends on the game. There are two games I play through every (or every second) year: Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Final Fantasy 7. Other games I really like I go through if they release again with anything added (I got everything in Disgaea on PS2, PSP and DS and will get everything on PC). But those few exceptions aside, I barely finish most of my games if at all
I don't replay that many games, obviously sports or fighting games come up.
I replayed the remastered Uncharted and am currently replaying Uncharted 2. Back on my ps3, I replayed Fallout 3, ME 2, ME 3, Skyrim, RDR (3 times lol) and GTA V. This gen, I doubt I will be replaying MGSV and have yet to do more than a few hours on Mad Max.
Not very often, only games i really enjoy that i'll go back to every couple of years like: Dues ex human revolution, Halo 1-3, Shenmue, Ape escape 1-2 and a few others.
Occasionally, but truthfully, I revisit games very little (which is why I could care less for BC). Not enough time.
The game has to be really ****** good before I even think about beating it a second time. Re4, Ninja Gaiden 1-2, The Witcher 3, Bayonetta 1, I'm in the middle of Bayonetta 2 and Bloodborne at the moment, OOT, Super Mario 64, Jet Set Radio... There are others, but damn my list is pretty small.
Depends on the game.
Bioshock and Resident Evil 4 I go through each once annually.
I play though GTA's IV and it's episodes and GTA V's story modes in a constant loop.
It has been a long time since I've replayed a game that wasn't paying out something new. The closest recent game would be Demons Soul's ++ and that was right after I finished it both times. Other that, I would guess Super Mario World, and a bit of Super Mario RPG on my phone about a year ago.
Indeed!
it doesn't get much better than what From Soft did with their original souls title, a true GOAT!
I don't even finish most games now-a-days because they lack inspiration and present virtually no motivation to continue on, If I make it through an entire campaign of a game just once than it's already far ahead of most games this gen for me.
Note, I did beat Bloodbone 4 or 5 runs which is likely the most play backs of any game this gen but that pales in comparison to Demon's Souls which was so rich I easily played 20 to 30+ full runs and I could still see myself going back and playing more.
FSX? All the time.
Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4? Every damn day. Reset outposts. Recapture them. Rinse. Repeat.
The Bioshock games? Crysis series? Annually.
I still havent played Crysis 3. Any good?
All the time if I love them. I replay every Halo game every year though at least once
Right there with ya bro. I never get tired of Halo campaign runs.
It depends on the game. Heavy Rain was a game I waited to buy dirt cheap even though I had enjoyed Indigo Prophesy the previous gen. I liked HR but couldnt fire it up for another play through though.
RotTR I am playing through for the 3rd time now with DLC; Bloodborne I need to do again with a new character; The Witcher 3 I want to play through again using my W2 Iorveth save file; Dar Souls I will play again once I download it on X1. I replayed Gears 2 and will 3 on X1. I received Nate Drake collection and am on Uncharted 3 and plan to wrap it up by mid April. I replay games quite a lot now that i think of it. After I got the steam controller I started playing Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance for the first time in years. Shit over the holidays I got a Genesis again and started playing NHL 95, Batman, Spiderman with my older brother again.
Very rarely no point with how many games are available.
Sometimes I feel that way but then I figure I spent $60 on this. I'm getting more than one run from it. I'm glad I know my tastes and self to degree at my age. I rarely buy a game new and end up not liking it. I got Fallout 4 for christmas and though I like what I've played, it just isnt holding me.
Unless it's a remake of a very old game or a New Game + mode I tend not to. I'll grind things out to collect everything 100% or get all achievements, but if I can avoid playing a game from start to finish again I will (for the argument of playing another game instead).
If we count the average Visual Novel as "replaying" due to all of the routes, then yes. I guess that is an exception. Although I am replaying all the routes in 999 and Virtue's Last Reward in anticipation of Zero Time Dilemma's launch and information panel on it next month (first official panel I believe other than confirming it's in the works).
