Just curious how old people in this community are, it would be nice to have a better understanding of the general demographic we are talking to and deal with...

This forum doesn't represent gamers in the real most gamers are teenagers at least the ones that actually play on a regular basis

That's from a few years back and only accounts for the U.S. Either way it's telling.
That article was from 4 years ago.

Nothing changed. The average age of a gamer in the U.S. is 35 years old. A Google search would show you this. It's not like people that are 30 quit playing all of a sudden.
I expect at least 75% to lie about their age
I'd be willing to wager the majority of this board is between 12-20
Anyway, 36.
38 - been around here for around a decade now. Things have really changed.
I remember the craziness this forum had in the middle of last gen... and it was amazing! so much different now. Then the SJW invasion...ughhh (at least this forum wasn't made into a crazy pit of censorship and marxist radicalism like some other sites)... miss the good ole days!
Threads like these make me realize I am getting old :( ..... But at least I have good gaming memories....
@jg4xchamp: you're the same age as me? I always figured you were much older. You're too cynical to be my age lol

Those guys don't play regularly you don't need a study to know most people who game on a regular basis are teenagers and kids
Most gamers are in their 30s.
We 80s kids are part of the boom in videos games.
Gen X all the way!! Damn right and why I find it repulsive that many younger gamers are ok with Censorship... people from gen x are usually all about freedom!
The 80s rocked!! And the 90s were great for gaming as well (at least the early and late parts...the middle 90s' not so much).

I guess you're going to assume and not read anything, so that's fine.
I turn 32 on May.
Same here. I'm getting too old for this place. But posting here from work is the only cure for boredom and this place is a decent place to come for fanboy lolz and news.
Let's face it guys, SW is the only place where we can come and be immature manchildren on the internet. This place brings me back to my childhood arguments about Nintendo vs SEGA (SEGA FTW!)

I've read it nothing there shows they are playing games to the standard that I consider to be a gamer. There is a difference between a gamer and a casual in my eyes.
@Midnightshade29:
Alot of people say Gen X is between 1961-1981 =(
:( Yep, I'm sadly considered a millennial.
@khoofia_pika: lol...I thought someone would guess old like 75 for that paranoid comment.
@mjorh: NO!!!

Aw come on now, I don't want to make people feel old
@ConanTheStoner: 40's feel rough depending on what kind of punishment you've put your body through. I was a sports player from like 5 years old. Contact football, hockey, karate, then the Army in my 30's. I feel now dude. Blown out right hip, back issues, hernia. But I still think about getting on skates and playing hockey again. My mind doesn't want to believe I can't do things anymore.
22. I posted a lot more when I was 15/16 but now I can't help but feel I'm too old for this gig. I post on and off now to stir up a few laughs for myself.

Sounds like you've had your fair share of memorable experiences though! That's gotta count for something.

I don't like it when people use that word in a negative way. I'm considered to be a millennial too.
29, surprised by the age similarity... browse gamespot since early 2000s using Dreamcast built in browser which was kinda crappy and slow.
@khoofia_pika: The most damage I've suffered was self inflicted and emotional and psychological due to being an alcoholic /addict. Nothing from sports or the Army compares with the the shame of self destructive behavior.
That said, all I can say is I am grateful to be alive and hope to be of service to others if I can.
@cainetao11: Well obviously it looks like you came through, and that is awesome. I can't imagine what It was like, but ultimately you're stronger for it.
