Saints Row 2, brilliant customization from your character, to clothing, to cars. Even your own gang of ass kicking Ninjas. More interesting missions with more variety across the board, more things to do outside of the main path, more collectibles with actual rewards, more interesting characters resulting in a more satisfying campaign. (Johnny Gat fo' life) Yeah, it pretty much was better. GTA4 was more refined. That's it.

i like picking up and throwing people and objects in saints row 2! That is both hilarious and fun. I like that I can beat up old people in sr2 as well, and unlike a lame game like true crime, old people are total pushovers which makes beating them up hilarous and fun as well

I dunno. Saints Row 2 was about a billion times more fun than GTA4 but HURRR DEEP STORY AND REALISM boosted GTA4's score

I found Saint's Row 2 more enjoyable personally. But you can see how it wasn't nearly as polished.

Even though there were more things to do in Saints Row, it was much faster to complete the story. The shooting, story, graphics, driving and sound were terrible in comparison to the near perfect polish of GTA IV, and the humor was pretty hit and miss in comparison to GTA's hilarious spoofing of america in general. Even the targeting system is better than SR2 I'd say, and thats something the original had over the entire previous GTA series.

Seriously, its like SR2 tried jamming so much in, none of it came out perfect, just half done (although customization was pretty deep, thats it).
