Let's just say it didnt age well.....eboyishere
yup. spcially the river stage. one of the best ever sight ever.
I like it better than the 2nd game. I've beaten Uncharted 1 like 20 times. I bought Uncharted 1 the day it came out, and it remains one of my favorite PS3 games. It's probably cheap now, you should check it out.
lol. care to elaborate?[QUOTE="eboyishere"]Let's just say it didnt age well.....jettpack
just some bugs and graphics dont look 4 years later. It happens to most games on consoles, they end up aging and not looking so good.
But UC1 did somethings better then UC2 so it's up to you. Or just get the dual pack: UC1 and UC2.
No need to play the first if you have played/can play 2. It's pretty much the same just not as well-made. There are some iffy platforming sections (you can't see where to go next), iffy enemy placement, there are a couple times where pacing is bad and it's just not as good as 2. If you just want to give it a shot though it's a short game and I'm sure it's cheap now. It's a solid title in its own right, when it came out I'd say it was worthy of a 9. But compared to what came after it's really just the same but not as good. I played it once shortly before 2 came out and sold it.
It was repetitive and pointless. I would never recommend it to anyone.
But you're bound to find a million others right here that would praise it to high heaven.

Like most games today.
It's a 6 hour games so minimal investment is required. Pick up the dual pack and enjoy. MFDOOM1983It actually took me a good 9 hours to beat. P.s Funny enough, no single Gears game has taken me more then 6 hours to beat actually.

I finished it two weeks ago and I enjoyed it. I felt is was paced better than Uncharted 2, and had a more tightly constructed narrative. Plus I thought the gunplay felt better, albeit unrefined compared to Uncharted 2. Though the final quarter of the game takes a nosedive in regards to quality, it feels and looks rushed and unpolished. Both UC1&2 will take you about 15-20 hours to finish, so it's well worth playing through them both since there's still 9 days until Uncharted 3 and a lot of the charm of the franchise comes from the characters, which Uncharted 1 has in truckloads.

Its not going to be a 6 hour game for everyone, because "not every gamer is equal," so for you to state that like if its a fact, you know better. You actually destroyed your own statement for me lol P.s Of course Gears has nothing to do with this thread. It had to do with your comment, as your comment reminded me of the games, because that game actually did take me no more then 6 hours to beat. I know, it was random, but oh well
Probably my biggest surprise of the generation as I simply picked it up becaus e the box looked cool and vaguely remember hearing about it on the internet
+The graphics hold up good to this day. Tropical environments, waterfalls, rivers all look nice and are fun to explore
+The story is fun, better than UC2 IMO. However, it DEFINITELY has superior antagonists to UC2
+Length can range from 6 hours to 12 or more if you're playing on the hardest difficulty (which is much harder than UC2).
-Gameplay is clunkier than UC2, aiming isn't so great sometimes and taking cover doesn't always work. That being said it is still playable although can be frustrating.
-Waves of waves of waves of enemies at times.
There you have it. IMO what it boils down to is this: If you love indiana jones, buy it. If you are picky about smooth gameplay, cheap waves of enemies, don't play it. If you fall somewhere in between, rent it?? Hope this helps
Definetly! It's not as good as Among Thieves but it's worth it to find out about how Drake and Elena met and just... wow, I absolutely loved, LOVED, the plot of Drake's Fortune. I'd say it's a bit better than Among Thieves, actually.

dont listen to anyone who tells you this game isnt worth going back and playing. it may not be as good as U2 (duh. sequels improve), but it is still one of the best adventure games this gen. i would give it a solid 9.5

It's clearly not as polished as the sequel, but still a solid enough game in it's own right.
It's worth it just to see the story and characters progress from game 1 to game 2. The game should be dirt cheap now, or you can just get the bundle of Uncharted 1+2. I mean is it REALLY a big hastle to play through a single player shooter for about 8-10 hours? Not really. Hell you can probably blow through it in like 4 hours if you play on easy. It's easily worth a playthrough (or two ;))
the first Uncharted doesn't have the incredible set-pieces and scripted events of Uncharted 2, the gameplay is more pure if you know what I mean but it feels rushed and the level design is not that great either. Then there's the horrible screen-tear that is all over the place but the frame-rate is nice, much more consistent than UC2 since it doesn't have vsync to drag it down to eliminate the tearing. The game is outdated but is still playable if you're not expecting much and just want to have a taste of what started it all.
It's a great game to start in the series, have no idea why you would start with the 2nd one, even if it was better.

it still looks better than most games out there.
The game looks fine it's the gameplay that hasn't aged well. Please Log In to post.
