Yea same here.The 1st one should be ignored. It sucked. Youll just see UC series as being bad if you play this game. I hated UC1 & almost didnt even play UC2 because of it. On ther other hand it makes you appreciate how much better UC2 was.
UC2 is one of the best video games ever. EVER!!. If you play UC1 you'll see what Uncharted would be like . . . . . . . if it sucked. Just ignore the 1st one & maybe one day you can go back, play it, see how far the series has come after you have played through 2 & 3
Surprised at all the negative comments at Uncharted 1 :? Even back in 2007 when "PS3 had no gamez!!!" Uncharted was still the one that stuck out to me. Once I got my PS3 and played it I was well happy, very good single player adventure game :D
It was alright. U2 was a huge improvement. My main gripe with Uncharted was the amount of shots it takes to kill enemies. If you don't get a headshot then it's going to take like a whole clip to kill someone. :x Game was pretty good though.
Call me nuts, but I liked the first better than 2 (story-wise). I still think Uncharted 2 is the better game overall, but didn't quite draw me in like the original did (I guess what I'm saying is that Uncharted 2 was more fun to play, but the first game was so full of mystery and suprises that I liked it better...that, and it had a brilliant twist on the El Dorado mythology :P).
People only bought it because at the time, there was no games on PS3 and then it came out and got super popular because there was nothing else to play.

It takes 3 pistol shots to kill a regular enemy in U1. That's hardly an entire "clip" (lol).
For it's time, it was excellent. The graphics still look great, but I wouldn't give it the 9.0 score that I would have given it back then when I played it. If it's your first time playing, then it's simply a good adventure action game with some flaws in its gameplay, a good story with good pacing, and good characters. The voice acting, visuals, characters, and some of the gameplay are its strengths.
If you play a game like Gears 3 or Uncharted 2 before this one, you will think it's crap
Playing it now... I'll let you know... Right now that skijet level was **** bull **** Besides that pretty decent game figure i should finished the first games since i loved the 2nd one and getting the 3rd in the mail soon.
It's GREAT! Definately a must own, it's not as good as Uncharted 2 thoughand it probabaly won't be as good as Uncharted 3 either. But it's still worth playing, I would give it a 9 out of 10. Or 5/5 because I prefer the 1-5 scale better :P
Don't listen to anyone saying this game is not worth playing. I beat it again last year and it still holds up very well and is a great game. DEFINITELY worth playing (and i'm definitely not an uncharted fanboy or sony fanboy).
It was pretty good. It wasn't one of Naughty Dog's better games though.

It was IMO. Uncharted 1 was an amazing game for the time of its release. It crushed the competition that was out at that time IMO and it still holds up well today But Uncharted 2 ...and even more so Uncharted 3 ...being the near perfect games that they are(master pieces)shouldn't take away from how great U1 was. That is just a testament to how much of a top tier and higher echolen developer Naughty Dog is. They continually make and put out amazingly fun games that do improve drastically from game to game. P.s lol hopefully they put out a Uncharted 2/3 quality type game right out the gate as their first game for the PS4 lol
I won't lie, I really didn't enjoy playing Uncharted 1. I've been playing 2, and it does seem better, but not actually a tremendous improvement imo. I'm hoping 3 actually deserves all the praise it's getting.
I think I would say it is a bit like the AC series, Uncharted 1 basicly tryies to find its footing, the different elements are in the game, but lacks the knowlage and feedback of the userbase.
It is not a bad game, it has its faults ofcourse, the shooting is a bit iffy at times, and I thought the camera angleswas not always well coded in.
id say you should try to get a hold of it, quite good game, and in some ways I liked it more then UC2.
I may be one of the few that enjoyed it alot more then UC2. I beat UC 3 times, normal, hard and then crushing because I enjoyed it so much, I barley beat UC2 once.

Pretty much this. Agreed........ If you are doing a speed run on the easiest difficulty lol I guess some people had trouble on those puzzles designed for simpletons.
Eh? How is it dated again? Graphics hold up really well and gameplay is pretty much the same deal as uncharted 2&3. Uncharted 1 is far from dated. The only complaints I hear about Uncharted 1 is that it's singleplayer only and there are a lot less exciting moments than Uncharted 2.
